Spring Celebration

Saturday, March 30, 2013

Friday Lily's class had a Spring Celebration and I was so happy that I was able to help out in her class. The morning kicked off with a Spring Hat Parade that spotlighted some pretty amazing and creative spring hats. Then all the parents filed into the cafeteria for the Spring Sing. I can't tell you in words how adorable the singing was. The kids really enjoyed singing for their families. Afterwards we headed back to class for a fun egg hunt and games.

Here's some snaps of the morning festivities!

I'm so pleased to share that I have been asked to join the McGill design team. McGill makes some amazing punches that help you create beautiful products.

I got an awesome product box from McGill and could not wait to dive in. I love creating my own embellishments from punches. The possibilities are endless with ink, glitter, mists...etc. You might remember my flower tutorial from my classes at GASC last year here. I'm really excited to see what I can create with these amazing punches.

Here's a card I created using their Silhouettes & Shadows Butterfly.

Another year older...

Hello friends. Friday was my 43rd Birthday. Forty-three...I'm not really feeling that number to be quite honest. I still feel like I am in my 20's except I am ALOT wiser than I was at 23...LOL. It seems like as we get older Birthdays aren't really as significant as they used to be and instead of the big fanfare we'd rather let them quietly pass. This year's birthday was pretty quiet.

I had a fabulous day. My husband took me out to breakfast in the Marina, then I did a little shopping and got a haircut. I baked my own Birthday cake {German Chocolate} my favorite and then we went out to dinner with my hubby and daughter before my son's Concert Band performance. After we put the kids to bed, hubby and I just watched a little tv and enjoyed my Birthday cake.

Here's a little photo mash up of my 43rd Birthday

I told my hubby "I don't look a day over 35" lol. He of course agreed...

I'm excited to see what 43 brings me. I won't lie, 42 has been a tough year for us as a family so I am definitely looking forward to a more positive year.

Thanks for all the sweet Facebook wishes I received. I tried to answer and tag each one of your posts. If I missed yours please know that it really meant a lot to me that everyone took the time to post their kind wishes.

Thanks for stopping by!

Feel better..Yes I finally am!

Happy Monday everyone! It sure feels good starting off my week feeling well again. I felt so good this weekend that I got a little stamping done. I'll be sharing some fun cards I created all week long.
First, I made this card for the MFT Guest Designer Contest. You can find out all the details on how to create for this challenge here in the MFT Forum at Splitcoaststampers.

Since I was sick for so long, I was looking thru some of my older MFT stamps and felt this image was perfect for so many who are suffering from this terrible virus that's going around.

Feel Better

I used solid cardstock from We R Memory Keepers and several patterns from the My Mind's Eye 6x6 Collectable "Notable" paper pad.
I chose the My Umbrella image from MFT Pure Innocence for my card. I stamped the image on Heavyweight cardstock in Smooth White and paper pieced the rain boots and jacket to match. I colored the image using Copics and used pop dots to add dimension. I finished my card with some bling strip from Eyelet Outlet and a button and heart bling from Queen and Co.

Additional MFT supplies used: Die-namics Jumbo Scallop Border.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look today.

Before I go I wanted to say that I really appreciate the kind comments and well wishes I've seen posted in the comments while I've been sick. They really did lift my spirits.

Have a great day!

My Emerald inspired Elegance: Tuesday Trigger

Saturday, March 16, 2013

It's so good to be crafting again instead of tucked in bed. I've spent the last 3 weekends in my bedroom tucked away from the world with only my laptop to watch movies and check what friends are up to on Facebook. You know it's amazing how seeing images that friends post of themselves out living can make you feel a little better when you can't get out.
Today I am not quite ready to get out of the house but I am out of my bed and in my craft room. I knew I needed a little kick start of creativity to bring my mojo back so of course I surfed on over to Moxie Fab World to see what Cath has going on for this week's Tuesday Trigger. When I saw this week's inspiration I was like Oh my WOW...

Since St. Patty's Day is tomorrow I was inspired by the Emerald green and the multiple layers in the neck of the dress.

Remember you are always...

Supplies: Patterned Paper: Webster's Pages, Wilton doilies, Eyelet Outlet pearl bling strips, Simon Says Stamp Sentiments, Offray satin ribbon. Misc Embellie: Anna Griffin.
