Wednesday, May 22, 2013

A few weeks ago the second auto ship of Anna Griffin embossing folders were shown on HSN. I had alot of fun creating with these new designs. They are really beautiful and true to Anna Griffin's great style. Here's a few cards I made for my assignments with some tips for creative ways to use the folders.

True Friend

Add some ink to your embossed paper. I used Anna's Navy blue pigment ink.

Thank you very much

Layer your embossed strips with patterned paper

For You

Emboss and layer die cuts

On Your Wedding Day

Fussy cut your border strips and layer them over another pattern.

Cherish

Use same ink color (Anna's cream pigment ink) as cardstock to add dimension to the embossing.

Thank You

Layer Anna's self adhesive border strips behind embossed strips for a beautiful look.

Happy Birthday

Use the border strips and your exact-o knife to create frames around your cards.

Happy Birthday to You

Emboss foil cardstock for a beautiful and crisp look.

All the cards show are 5x7 in size. Make sure you visit Anna's Facebook and Pinterest page for more inspiration using your Anna Griffin products.

New from Anna Griffin: Chinoiserie

Wednesday, May 15, 2013

Hello friends. Today I am sharing some cards I created a few weeks ago with one of Anna Griffin's newest collections...

Chinoiserie

I love the colors of this collection and the die cut frames. I also loved layering the die cut flowers with pop dots and creating these cards.

Creating these samples was a lot of fun and I really liked how easy it was the layer all of the embellishments and sentiments in this kit. It really is a beautiful collection.

For more information about the Chinoiserie collection, it's currently available here at HSN.

Fun with the May Simon Says Stamp Card kit

Tuesday, May 14, 2013

Wow it's Tuesday already? Hope you had a fantastic weekend celebrating the mothers in your life. I did get to spend a little time creating after the kids went to bed and I was having some fun with this month's Simon Says Stamp card kit. I love love love the stamp set included in the kit.

So many fun images and so many possibilitites. Here's a look at the cards I created.

Eternally grateful...

I loved the Webster's Pages trims included and used the lace here. I also paper pieced the heart images and added some 3D foam to pop them off the card. I finished the dots with a little Perfect Pearls in white.

Thank you for the many wonderful things...

For the roses I misted some white cardstock with Heidi Swapp Color Shine and stamped the images over the color, embossed them and then cut them out to place on the card. I added some Copic markers to make the color pop more and have some shading.

I used the Perfect Pearls included to add some dimension to my punched border and the centers of the punched flowers. I also used the same colors of Copics to color the ribbon as well.

I love the colors of all the patterned paper included in the kit. It made creating these cards lots of fun.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look!

Have a creative day!

MFT Stamp Club Challenge

Tuesday, May 7, 2013

Hello friends. It's pouring rain here today in So Cal and while it may be dreary outside, I've been creating some sunny little cards in my studio. My sweet friend Lisa sent me some adorable My Favorite Things stamps that I could not wait to ink up. That made creating along with this week's Stamp Club Challenge even more fun.

Let's have a look at the sketch.

Here's my take with the adorable Doodle Garden Sweet as can Bee image.

Supplies: My Mind's Eye patterned paper 6x6 stack , Seam binding ribbon, Papertrey ink coverplate, Spellbinders circle and scallop dies, Tim Holtz button Copic markers and Stickles.

I thought it would be fun to have the honeycomb texture behind the image so I used the circle and cover plate dies to cut the same color cardstock and layered them over one another. Then I just cut away the excess honey comb die.

Stamp Club is a weekly challenge at the MFT blog. Stop by and find out how you can create along for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the store.

Have a creative day!
