This week's sketch from 2Sketches4You is brought to us by Laura. I'm late posting this week due to a computer hiccup that thankfully only set us back $30. So without further ado, here's Laura's fabulous sketch

And my take using the Twilight patterned papers and stamp set from Pink Paislee that I am wild about right now and some fun findings I got at the Artistic Affair I went to with my friend Heidi.

Sorry for the bad pic but the camera batteries died on me too and I lost the daylight...sheesh!

So last night while I was creating some cards Lily was playing with her toys on the floor behind me. It was pretty hot in the bedroom so I brought a fan in to stay cool while I worked. I turned around to check on Lily and found her like this

Sitting in the drawer of my Rubbermaid storage with my chipboard extras, hair blowing in the fan like a model at a photo shoot smiling up at me.

She continued to play inside the container arranging the contents on the floor

But this one made me laugh the hardest...oh what a joy you my sweet baby girl
Hope you're having a good weekend. We are relaxing at the Smith house and I am scrappin!

I'm Back and finally Getting Sketchy!!!

Friday, September 25, 2009

Happy Friday friends! Sorry for the late post but I had a slight technical difficulty with my computer. Our mouse started acting funny a few days ago and would freeze. We couldn't figure out what the problem was and then late last night the keyboard and mouse went dead. I was up til 1 a.m. trying to figure it out but no luck.

So this morning I had a tech come over and thankfully it was only a minor issue! After a morning run to Frys and 30 bucks I'm on a wireless system and back in business!!

So onto this week's sketch at Get Sketchy!!! But first we have a FAB sponsor this week!

From our passionately popular Who's That Girl? images to our too cute for words MFT Presents images, there is a little something for everyone and a lot of something different.

This week if you'd like to play along you could win a stamp set from My Favorite Things! Now here's our sketch

We were lucky to receive a few of the new My Favorite Things sets free!!! Here's my take on the sketch using the set Too Cute to Spook

The added bonus this week is to distress your project! Can't wait to see what you create with this week's sketch. I think Bree has an extra suprise for you this week so head on over to the blog for the Deets here!
And to wrap up the GCD & Grafix blog party click over to the GCD blog and leave a comment to win $50.00 in product from both manufacturers!!! Good Luck!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

More GCD & Grafix Blog fun!!!

Thursday, September 24, 2009

Welcome friends! GCD Studios & Grafix have teamed up this week to bring you some fun projects with their awesome products! I was asked to join the fun and design a few things for your viewing pleasure. I'd like to start off with my Vellum butterflies. Who doesn't love butterflies to compliment their pages and cards? Fun and easy to create using Grafix Vellum, these butterflies dress up any project.

To create your own butterflies use a Spellbinders die to cut the butterflies and then run the vellum thru the Cuttlebug in an embossing folder to add dimension to your butterflies.

Next I created this fun notebook using Grafix Chipboard. Also embossing the chipboard with my Cuttlebug I used Tim Holtz distress inks over the embossed image and added ribbon and pearls. I cut plain paper for the inside of my notebook and hole punched the end of the chipboard and attached the two sides and paper with some Velvet brads. I finished it off with a Close To My Heart metal finding, some Prima lace, misc ribbon and a Hero Arts stamped image on Grafix Shrink Film.

This card was created in less than 10 minutes! I cut the cardstock, used a Martha Stewart punch on the bottom of the cover. Then I embossed a peice of Grafix Vellum using the same folders as my Notebook, added pearls, stamped sentiment and tied some sheer ribbon at the top.

For my last project I used the Grafix Vellum, Shrink film and Craft Plastic. I embossed the craft platic and rubbed orange paint on it to make the embossed pumpkins stand out. I also used the Vellum as cardstock for the card and attached it to the base cardstock with brads. Finishing it off was a stamped leaf image on Shrink Film and sentiment from Inkadinkado.

Thanks for stopping by today don't forget to sign up as a Google follower at the GCD Blog for your chance to win $100 in product! I hope you'll give some of these techniques a try.

Grafix & GCD!! Blog Party!!!!

Tuesday, September 22, 2009

**This is my second post today so scroll down for Jacksonbelle Tuesday!!!**

Grafix and GCD have teamed up to bring you a week filled with fantastic artwork featuring fun products by Grafix! Grafix has tons of fun products that you can use to create your own embellies!!
Here's a layout I created using Grafix Vellum and Shrink film to create my butterfly embellies

So here's some deets on the Shrink film! I used my Cuttlebug and Spellbinder dies to cut my butterflies first. Then I used Black Stayz On ink to stamp on my dies and Close To My Heart colored pens to color in the stamped image.

Now we're ready to pop it into the toaster oven and shrink!

The end result are these fun embellies that shrink down to a smaller size. You could make a necklace or keychain out of these lovelies!!! The possibilities are endless!!

Thanks for stopping by today and be sure and visit the GCD blog and sign up for their Google follower by Friday for your chance to win $100 in GCD product!!!
Now isn't that special!!!

Prima at Jbelle!!!!

Ask any of my crafty friends, I'm crazy about Prima products. My LSS doesn't carry them and it's such a shame. I'm a fan of just about every product they have but my real love affair is with their flowers. When I saw the release of the new Camelot Roses I had to have them! Last week my order came from Jacksonbelle and I have to say these roses are so detailed and more beautiful than their picture.

We're celebrating the NEW products in the store this week so here are a few projects I created featuring some of them.

Here's a frame I made out of the Prima packaging these Camelot Roses came in.

Here's another card I made using my Martha Stewart lace doily punch to layer cardstock and ink. We've got new Martha punches at Jbelle and Lindsey is taking pre-orders for the new holiday punches so check them out! I also used a Camelot Rose and some Prima Bling.
Here's a card I made using all Prima products (except ribbon) and a sketch from Mojo Monday.
And finally a card with the new Cosmo Cricket Earth Love line and a cute bird stamp from Prima. Lindsey will have Cosmo back in stock soon so check back with us!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Don't forget the Jacksonbelle challenge is still happening and you could win 50.00 shopping spree in the store. The deets are here.
Now be sure and stop by our Rockstar Design team blogs to see what they've created for you this week! And a warm welcome to Keri Lee, our dewest Design Team member!!!

Busy Busy weekend...

Monday, September 21, 2009

I had a great weekend just no time to blog about it...lol My friend Heidi invited me to go with her here
and Oh... look what I got!
Yummy ribbons and trim, chipboard to alter, Jenni Bowlin, Maya Road etc. My favorite table was decorated for Halloween with some really fun banners
Spooky!! Love it!!

Here's another peek inside the marketplace, love those hanging paper decorations!
It was a relly fun event and the ladies were really sweet. Heidi and I helped out at Laura from a Kiss on the Chic's make and take table. It was really cute project! Here's the link to it here. I did not get a pic of mine I made before my sweet 2 year old got ahold of it and tore it up. Yep you read that right...I left it on the table next to the door and well you know...kids
It was great to meet Laura, she's even prettier in person and tall!
I'll see you tomorrow with a new Tuesday JBelle challenge!

2S4Y & Hero Arts

Thursday, September 17, 2009

Hi friends! Just a quick post today to get my card up for this week's challenge at 2Sketches4You. I got my new scrappy stuff yesterday and was happy to get right into it! The Amber Road line (available in the Jacksonbelle store) is perfect for my masculine take on this week's Fab sketch from Kazan!

I also used stamps by Hero Arts for this week's challenge at the Hero Blog. I've learned to stamp on different sutrfaces from Hero and decided to stamp on cork board and emboss. I'm really enjoying this technique!

**2nd 2S4Y Entry** Ok I had to make another card with this sketch so here's something SPOOKY with the new Pink Paislee Twilight line and a fun Graveyard punch from Martha Stewart!

I embossed the patterned CS with the Provo Craft Spider web folder and inked it with Ranger Distress Ink. I also used the new distress embossing powder from Ranger. I like to rough look of the Trick or Treat image from Inkadinkado.

Tomorrow I'll have a new Sketch from Get Sketchy and a Friends with Flair project featuring Unity!
Thanks for stopping by!

Jbelle Tuesday and a chance to win a scrappy shopping spree

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

It's time for a new challenge at the Jacksonbelle Blog! This week's challenge is to create a card themed for Halloween or Fall. In California we don't get to see the seasons change like they do back east and lately our summers seem to run into the fall. I miss it.

I chose to create a spooky card for this week's challenge.

I used the new Twilight line from Pink Paislee we have in the store for my card. The stamped image is from Inkadinkado. We have some great Inkadinkado Halloween stamps in the store for 1.99!! The ribbon I picked up at Michaels, isn't it cute! The brad went perfectly with the orange Prima flower. Speaking of Prima, have you seen the new Prima in the store? Check out the new Camelot Roses and Holiday Lights sprays debuted at summer CHA here

here's a close up of the brad. My mom gave a bunch of cool Halloween brads to me last year. I have a special stash for Halloween embellies since I have so much fun creating for this holiday.

Are you loving the new CHA products in the store? Well you can win a 50.00 shopping spree in the Jacksonbelle store! We've got a September Challenge happening and you can read the deets here
We hope you play along with this week's challenge. Link up your creations to the blog or use the tag JBE071 if you post at SCS or Paper Craft Planet

Sunday Scrappin and the return of the Dolphins

Sunday, September 13, 2009

Yes ladies it's officially Football season! My hubby is a die hard Dolphins fan so this is for him.
Go Dolphins!!

Toot Toot!!! I made the Fab 5 at 2 Sketches 4 You this week!!!!

So it's been a lazy Sunday and my daughter finally fell asleep for her nap so I could get in to the bedroom to make a card while she was sleeping in her crib. So cute....

I had a chance to create a card with my new Hero Arts Halloween set I ordered a couple months ago for one of the color challenges posted on the Hero Arts blog this week.

Here's my take using the Pink Paislee Twilight prize package I won from the Scrap Review

I just might make some more so stay tuned and have a happy Sunday!!!

2 Sketches 4 You Challenge

Saturday, September 12, 2009

It's been a busy week with school starting up again and getting back into the old routine. I've really missed the blogs and challenges I frequent. Moving isn't easy and getting your things settled in a way you feel comfortable is certainly time consuming. More so than I thought before we moved but I am almost finished with unpacking and organizing this house. I can finally get a cleaning routine down too. I am hoping to be back to my old paper crafting routines as well. I did find time last night while organizing my daughter's room and my new scrap space to create a card based on Laura's sketch this week at 2S4Y. Here's Laura's fab sketch

Here's my take on the challenge

I used patterned paper from K & CO. as well as some stickers. May Arts ribbon from the Jacksonbelle Embellishments Store and a Prima flower. I stamped the word F O R E V E R on the inside and gave this card to my hubby for all his hard work. I {heart} him so much for being such a great husband and father.

Now for a few peeks at my daughter's room and my scrap space

This is her side of the room

And my side...a work in progress but we are getting there. My SIL found me a card table for my scrap space. I had a small half table that just wasn't enough space. I'm not happy about the table coming out so far from the closet but until I can afford to get what I have in mind it will work!
I hope you are having a great weekend!
Thanks for stopping by!!
