More Anna Griffin: New Joyful Expressions Embossing folders

Thursday, January 30, 2014

Hello friends. I wanted to share some samples I created for Anna's Anniversary show on HSN in January featuring the new Joyful Expressions Embossing folders.

These folders are really beautiful and fun to create with in any style. I love the quality of these beautiful Cuttlebug embossing folders. I added ink to the folder for the Cherry Blossom card and it wiped away easily with a baby wipe.

Here's a look at some of the samples with the folder names.

I loved these embossing folders paired with Anna's collections. I inked some of them with Anna's new chalk inks and the last one used colored embossing powder in pink.

What ever your style, you'll be able to create beautiful cards with these folders.

Albums Made Easy Monday {on Tuesday}

Tuesday, January 28, 2014

Hello friends! I know I'm a day late posting and I had my projects ready for yesterday's post but I did not get a chance to photograph them in the morning before my new daycare baby arrived.

So it's Albums Made Easy Monday on Tuesday this week!

Last week I share that I'd be showing you how easy it was to incorporate a 12x12 layout along with an Albums Made Easy page. I chose the Instagram photo sleeve to create with again this week. I really like this style right now.

Here's a look at this week's project with a mix of my favorite photos of our friend Zalie and Lily.

Last Day

 photo 8a9afa65-3ed8-4086-bd40-c561921fe3b6.jpg

I used my Cameo to cut the background on the 12x12 layout and it was easier than expected. This layout uses more of the Notable collection from We R Memory Keepers. In addition the AME Notable kit, I used some of the 6x6 and 12x12 papers too.

 photo AMENotable127b.jpg

I love the new sticker letters from the Notable collection by We R Memory Keepers. They are pretty fun to create with.

  photo AMENotable127c.jpg

I used an old star punch to punch a few stars in the journal card and just backed it with coordinating cardstock. I added a tiny attacher staple for fun. It's little things like these that make it easy to alter the inserts with your own style.

As you've seen before here, I love to use stamps on my Albums Made Easy pages. I'm particularly fond of these new Binder Clip brads by Eyelet Outlet. I cut a 4x4 piece of white cardstock and then cut down the photo insert to add this cute photo of the girls. Then I added a strip of We R washi tape, the stamped circle image and clip to create this block.

One of the things I do like about the pocket pages is that I can take each square and add my own style without having to be overwhelmed with a design like I find myself at times with a 12x12 layout. I can also create faster.

I hope today's inspiration helps some of you see how easy the 12x12 layout goes with the pocket page option I chose.

If you have any questions, please feel free to leave them in the comments and I will get back to you!

Now for last week's Prize winner!

Simon Says Stamp January Card kit fun

Tuesday, January 21, 2014

Oh hello there! So glad that the kids are back in school today on regular schedule. Am I terrible for saying that out loud? I can't help it, this time is precious to me since I get time to create only after I am a mom and a wife. You all know what I am talking about. It's either after they are in bed or early in the morning right?

Well I finally got some time to create with my January Simon Says Stamp January Card kit.

I love getting these kits in the mail each month. So much fun in a little box!

So with my free time, I made this card using this month's stamp set.

 photo Simon22014kit.jpg

This silly guy is too cute! I misted a piece of paper with some Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Chartreuse. Then I stamped the image and embossed him with clear powder and cut him out. I stamped the design in Studio G red and grey pigment ink and added the Hero Hues bling. I layered the stamped cardstock over my card base that I had added Recollections glitter tape to the long sides of. This is a great card to make in 10 minutes or less.

This is a great card to make in 10 minutes or less.

I hope you got some crafty time to yourself today. Are you making homemade Valentines? I always do...I know I'm crazy but honestly it's so much fun to see her face when I am done.

Have a creative day!

Albums Made Easy Monday

Monday, January 20, 2014

Hello friends. This week's featured Albums Made Easy collection is Notable. This collection is fun, fresh and features lots of bright colors.

Today I am sharing an AME page I created with photos from JT's 20/20 Experience concert that my hubby took me to in November. I'm also using one of the AME Instagram photo sleeves.

 photo AMEjan20a.jpg

Sorry for the glare. This page was really fun. I am kind of addicted to using our die cut inserts as shakers. They are pretty easy to make with a little adhesive and a clear bag. I filled mine with random sequins, a wood accent and added my Simon Says Stamp Monthly Card kit word bubble paper clip which I thought was fun.

 photo AMEJan20c.jpg

For me personally, stamps must be used on my AME pages. My favorites are Unity Stamp Company's SMAK kits because you get an awesome variety of images to create with.
I stamped the hearts image with red Studio G ink and then layered the love you sentiment. I also encourage you to punch shapes out of your album inserts to create die cut cards that reflect your own style.

 photo AMEJan20b.jpg

I use 12x12 paper for my pages but I really like the 6x6 paper pads because the images are smaller and great to use. I cut out this mini Instagram frame from a 6x6 sheet and then cut out the love thought bubble and added it to the center. I used my favorite stapler, the Tiny Attacher from Ranger to attach it to my photo.

 photo AMEJan20d.jpg

I am really enjoying the Albums Made Easy process. Next week I'll be sharing some inspiration with creating a 12x12 page to go with an AME page. It's my Scrapbooking goal to mix in more 12x12 layouts in with my AME pages.

So now that you've had a peek at Notable, how would you like to have some to create with for yourself? Julie sent me some extras to share with you today so just leave me a comment telling me what your Scrapbooking goal is for 2014. The winner will be announced on next week's post.

While I was away at CHA

Friday, January 17, 2014

Hello friends! While I was at the Craft and Hobby Mega Show, Anna Griffin was on HSN celebrating 20 years of her amazing products! Anna's style and designs are so unique and timeless. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of her brand is quality. I love that her product not only lasts but everything she creates is made so incredibly well.
Here's a look at a few of the samples I made for the 20th Anniversary HSN show.

 photo Shemaine20thAnnivPaper1.jpg

 photo Shemaine20thAnnivPaper4.jpg

This card was my favorite. I cut out the design on the paper and created a card that looked like a purse.

 photo Shemaine20thAnnivPaper3.jpg

It's so easy to create Rosettes with strips of this cardstock since it's nice and heavy.

 photo Shemaine20thAnnivPaper2.jpg

Next I have some samples with the new...

 Chalkboard Stamp Set
{this item sold out but keep checking Anna's page at HSN to see if it comes back in stock}

 photo Shemainechalkboard1.jpg

I stamped this one in the black ink that comes with the stamp set.

For this card I paired Anna's 3D Stickers, flourish die and the Chalkboard image to make a beautiful card.

 photo Shemainechalkboard4.jpg

Anna's new embossing folders also compliment the stamps well.

 photo Shemainechalkboard6.jpg

The green ink is fun to create with as well!

 photo Shemainechalkboard2.jpg

I really love how easy it was to cut out the sentiments after stamping them and then layer them like I did over the rosette made from patterned paper.

Beautiful stamp set right?

I'll be sharing more Anna creations from the show next week, so look for that post!

Inspiration from design failure

Wednesday, January 15, 2014

Hello friends. Today I'm sharing something I created after having a little design failure with this week's upcoming Stamp of the Week. Now I can't show you my failed card but I can share with you the journey that led me to create this...

 photo Lovethiscard.jpg

After being a little frustrated over my failed design with this week's Stamp of the Week, I headed over here

   photo Pinterest.jpg

And I came across this image Pinned by Angela Ploegman

 photo danielle.jpg

I loved the water color, multi-colored technique Danielle used with this Papertrey Ink image and the gold sequin. It made me remember the wood feathers I had in my stash and how great they might look with some of Heidi Swapp's Color Shine.

 photo Lovethiscard2.jpg

So I started with the feathers, misting them with two of my favorite shades, Chartreuse and Teal. I also thought a background would be a fun so I used the heart background from my Unity Stamp Co. December SMAK kit  (You are LOVED) stamped in Studio G's grey pigment ink.

Then I chose my sentiment, the Love This from Simon Says Stamp Love This set. I wish I had a LIFE stamp for the inside but I couldn't find anything I liked and when I looked at it, I don't think Love This really made sense until I added the Thank You image from Technique Tuesday. Finally, I finished the card off with some sequins and bling.

And there you have it, my inspiration from failure card. I can tell you that once I finished this card, I knew exactly where to begin with try #2 of my Stamp of the Week image.

What do you do when you are faced with design failure? I'd love for you to share your story!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hello friends! It's that time again! I'm so excited to be back from the Craft and Hobby 2014 Mega Show to share with you some exciting new Albums Made Easy reveals for today's Albums Made Easy Monday!

First, the biggest news is that We R Memory Keepers has partnered with Teresa Collins!

Here's a close up of the Quoted Ring Album's glittery cover.

I was talking to Andrew from We R and he was especially excited to share that the glittered albums have been made so that the glitter does not come off. I love that!

Next here's a look at all 6 of the new Albums Made Easy collection kits! From the top left Game Day, Sheer Metallic, Inked Rose, Jet Set, Farmers Market and Indian Summer.

And so are the Albums Made Easy Collection sets!

  photo AMEInstagram2.jpg

Finally, I saved the best for last...The Albums Made Easy Organized Card Cabinet!

 photo AMEa.jpg

This cabinet features card drawers on top for the 3x4 cards and 2 drawers on the bottom that hold the  4x6 cards.

 photo AMEb.jpg

Here's a close up look of how you can organize the cards by holiday, theme or whatever.

The album page storage has tabs with the photos of the different AME photo sleeves so you know which sleeve you are pulling out to use. That's pretty clever!

So friends, are you excited about these new additions to the Albums Made Easy line?? I know I am and I can't wait to get some in my hands to create with! I'd love to hear what your favorite reveal is so make sure you leave me a comment and I'll have a little mix of Albums Made Easy journal cards for one lucky commenter!
