Pssst! It's (finally) Halloween!

Wednesday, October 31, 2012

EEEEK! Can you feel the creepy in the air? It was foggy here last night and this morning...Halloween is surely creeping in this morning.

I'm headed to Lily's school later today for some Halloween fun so stay tuned for those pics.

We had a great time on Sunday at my friend Monica's Annual Pumpkin carving party. This was our second year attending. Here's some photos I captured of my family in action.

Here's the one where Lily is scooping out the insides aka "the guts" as she declaired.

Here's the one where Lily says "I don't know Daddy, that one looks hard" as Mat tapes the template on.

Here's the one where I said "hey babe, looking good!"

Here's the one where Mat get serious about his carving skills

Here's the one where Mat is showing off his mad carving skills. Doesn't it look great?

The one where I snapped other happy carvers deep in carving creativity.

All carved up and ready to light. A family photo with our masterpeice or as hubby dubbed the pumpkin his "Magna Opus"

I'm off to bake some treats but before I go we have a few friends with Halloween Birthdays today. A very Happy Birthday to our family friend Mike Lenke and my friend Heidi Sonboul. Hope you both have a frightenly goulish day!

Here's wishing you all a very happy and safe Halloween with your families this evening.

Want 2 Scrap and My Little Shoebox

Tuesday, October 23, 2012

Hello friends. My Little Shoebox and Want 2 Scrap have swapped products and this week we are sharing what we created using them. As soon as I got this Paradise Chipboard Album I knew that it was perfect for Lily's 4th Birthday photos that I have been wanting to save for her in a mini album.  I know when she is older someday she will love that I made this for her.

 Front Cover

For the front cover I misted the laser cut chipboard with Tattered Angels. I lined the outer edge with the strips of bling from Eyelet Outlet. The purple doily with Tinkerbell in the middle is from the Cupcake display that I made by putting a sticker in acetate and then cutting it out. I popped it off the middle with pop dots. The ribbon and purple flower were used on the tutu favors that the girls were given.

 Page One and Two

I love this photo of all the kids. Don't they look great? This photo of Lily is one I will treasure forever. I used the Classy corners: Grace to frame her photo. A good friend of mine captured all of the images I chose for this book. I don't think she'll ever really know just how much I appreciate that she was there that day taking these photos.

Page Three and Four

For this page I used Want 2 Scraps Ribbon Rose to create borders for this page. I added some doilies and the punch out leaves sprinkled with glitter.

Pages 5 & 6

My printer ran out of ink hence the blank photo mats. I chose this full image of Lily in her Tinkerbell costume. I love the way it looked on her with her beautiful long hair. She really is our little princess.

I loved creating with this album from Want 2 Scrap because it was just enough pages for me to tell the story of my daughters birthday party.

Please visit the My Little Shoebox blog today to find out how you could win one of the prizes we are offering.

Please stop over to their blogs and check out what they've created.

Spooky fun from We R Memory Keepers

Monday, October 22, 2012

Good morning! Halloween is just a little over a week away. Have you gotten all your costumes? My daughter is going to be Rapunzel this her {her request}. I am excited to dress my girl up as a princess and take her trick or treating!
Today I am sharing some Halloween inspired cards created with the Black Widow collection from We R Memory Keepers.

Spooky

I love this orange fringe border from Petaloo. It was perfect for this card. I stamped the web stamp upside down on the circle die and then used stickers for the sentiment. They started out as white glitter and I colored them with my orange Copic marker and then went back over them with orange Stickles.

 Boo

Next I turned this clock pattern into the main focus of my card adding some Martha Stewart web borders to each side in gold and used the chipboard as a sentiment. I finished it off with some polka dot ribbon and one of the metal charms.

 Punkin Boo

For this card I embossed the pattern paper with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and used the lil'Inkers die to create the cute bow. I inked up a Wilton doily with distress inks to make it look old.

I love creating with the Black Window collection from We R Memory Keepers because it has a great variety of  patterned papers, embellishments and stickers.

Have a great Monday!

Next I made some fun cards with the Paper Bow Embellishment kit.

A little Hall Pass fun

Wednesday, October 10, 2012

Hello friends. I've been working on several projects this week and today I have a quick look at a mini I am not quite finished with featuring the Hall Pass collection from We R Memory Keepers as well as a few cards.

I used my Cinch from We R Memory Keepers and some cardboard to create the front and back covers of my mini album. I love that I can make a mini album out of recycled cardboard. The camera image is a stamp from Unity Stamp Company's SMAK kit. You can read all about SMAK here on the Unity website.

I can't wait to share more of this project with you soon! Now for my cards...

Paper Posies October kit

Monday, October 8, 2012

Hello friends. Happy Monday! Did you know that I have been designing for Paper Posies kit club since 2009? I have loved every single kit that has come each month since I started designing for Michele. She has a great eye for style and trends. Each month when my box arrives I get so excited to see what she has put together. Paper Posies kits come with a generous amount of pattern paper, coordinating solid cardstock, stickers, fabulous embellies and a special project each month.

Here's a look at the October kit

I shared my cards that I created for World Card Making Day on this post here. And today I wanted to share some more of my art work with the October kit.

Learning to Fly

I used some Mister Huey mists for this layout and the fun Heidi Swapp instaframes to hold a few photos of Lily getting her first fly lesson @Fly Studios for Olivia's Birthday.

I love adding doilies to my layouts because they add a softness to the theme.

Here's a fun layout I scrapped about my dear friend Alice Carman. She is one of the sweetest gals I know. Our friend Eva introduced us at CHA and we laughed when we found out that we live 15 minutes from one another. I love spending time with her. She really is special.

I love these Color Me Crazy embellies from Petaloo! I used some silver chalk ink from Studio G to color the chipboard and then adhere them with glue dots. Easy and fun to use.

Finally this month's project was this Maya Road tin star. I thought since the confetti craze is the current trend I sprinkled confetti inside and added a special message. I used Glossy Accents to seal my message and then glued a magnet on the back.

If you'd like to learn more about getting a Paper Posies box at your door each month, visit the Paper Posies website here.

Have a great day!
