Will You Be My Valentine

I have been playing around with my Ranger Distress Inks and my water color brush and mini mister. I really enjoy the process of creating backgrounds like these. It was easy to trim the cardstock I  experimented with and mount it on a card base. I finished it off with some Doodlebug Designs twine and button.

Simon Says Stamp Sept Card kit creations

Hello friends. Today I have a few cards to share that I made with the September Simon Says Stamp Monthly Card kit.

Here's a few cards I made using the kit. 

I loved that cat on the October Afternoon paper so he was my focus for this card.

My one layer shelf attempt. It could use a little work but I gave it a try...lol. I don't think I have ever stamped a card with that many different colors of ink. 

 For some reason my Yellow ink was calling my name for this sentiment.

I love my Simon Says Stamp monthly kits. It's a little box of happy!

Creating for fun Tuesday

Hello friends! Over the weekend I met up with some friends at Custom Impressions in Bellflower for a weekend crop and some much needed me time.

I had a great time and had some time to create with my April Simon Says Stamp card kit.

I love the stamp set in this month's Sold Out kit

I used the scraps of patterned paper from the above card to make this one.

 

The last time I was out at Custom Impressions I picked up Teresa Collins  Save the Date collection. Here's a card I made using the Project Life inspired 3x4 card and some other embellies from the collection.

Making use of scraps with Simon Says Stamps

Happy Friday friends. I know several people with Birthdays this week so I gathered up some scraps and one of my newest stamp sets from Simon Says Stamp and got inky!

Here's the set I used from Simon Says Stamp.

Handwritten Borders

I stayed with a simple design, used colored inks and here's how they turned out.

I love using twine on cards and doubling them up makes for a cute bow. I also like to tie the two ends together to finish my look.

If you don't have alot of time then these cards are the answer. I generally make a 1/2 dozen at a time since they come together so quickly. They are 4 1/3 X 5 1/2. I adhere the patterned paper, round the bottom corners, stamp the sentiment and finish them with the bow.

Simon Says Stamp January Card kit fun

Oh hello there! So glad that the kids are back in school today on regular schedule. Am I terrible for saying that out loud? I can't help it, this time is precious to me since I get time to create only after I am a mom and a wife. You all know what I am talking about. It's either after they are in bed or early in the morning right?

Well I finally got some time to create with my January Simon Says Stamp January Card kit.

I love getting these kits in the mail each month. So much fun in a little box!

So with my free time, I made this card using this month's stamp set.

This silly guy is too cute! I misted a piece of paper with some Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Chartreuse. Then I stamped the image and embossed him with clear powder and cut him out. I stamped the design in Studio G red and grey pigment ink and added the Hero Hues bling. I layered the stamped cardstock over my card base that I had added Recollections glitter tape to the long sides of. This is a great card to make in 10 minutes or less.

Inspiration from design failure

Hello friends. Today I'm sharing something I created after having a little design failure with this week's upcoming Stamp of the Week. Now I can't show you my failed card but I can share with you the journey that led me to create this...

After being a little frustrated over my failed design with this week's Stamp of the Week, I headed over here

   

 And I came across this image Pinned by Angela Ploegman

I loved the water color, multi-colored technique Danielle used with this Papertrey Ink image and the gold sequin. It made me remember the wood feathers I had in my stash and how great they might look with some of Heidi Swapp's Color Shine.

So I started with the feathers, misting them with two of my favorite shades, Chartreuse and Teal. I also thought a background would be a fun so I used the heart background from my Unity Stamp Co. December SMAK kit  (You are LOVED) stamped in Studio G's grey pigment ink.

 Then I chose my sentiment, the Love This from Simon Says Stamp Love This set. I wish I had a LIFE stamp for the inside but I couldn't find anything I liked and when I looked at it, I don't think Love This really made sense until I added the Thank You image from Technique Tuesday. Finally, I finished the card off with some sequins and bling.

And there you have it, my inspiration from failure card. I can tell you that once I finished this card, I knew exactly where to begin with try #2 of my Stamp of the Week image.

25 Days of Holiday Cards Day 16

Hello friends and thanks f.or joining me for Day 16 of my 25 Days of Holiday cards. Today's card features some of the goodies included in my Simon Says Stamp limited edition Holiday Card kit.

Season's Greetings

I love the softness of the color turquoise and paired with gold, it's a fantastic combination! I added a
glitter snowflake I had and used two punched vellum snowflakes that came in the envelope of a holiday card from my sweet friend Aimee Maddern. Nothing like recycling right?

25 Days of Holiday Cards Day 15

Hello friends and thanks for stopping by for Day 15 of my 25 days of Holiday Cards. I can hardly believe Christmas is 10 days away. Do you have all your shopping done? I certainly do not. I'm definitely not ready for the feeling of Christmas to be over in 10 days!

I finally got to break open my December card kit from Simon Says Stamp. It features an adorable Holiday themed stamp set and Maryanne snowflake stencil that was perfect for my first attempt at creating with the Bokah trend. 

How did I do?

I used Grey ink and the mask to create a background on white cardstock. Then I stamped my sentiment in black ink. I punched various colors of vellum with a hole punch to make my confetti and added a little sparkle with some Stickles.

It was fun and easy to create. My only issue was having the vellum confetti curl when I used the liquid glue to adhere to the card. Perhaps the mini glue dots would have been a better choice.

Fun with the May Simon Says Stamp Card kit

Wow it's Tuesday already? Hope you had a fantastic weekend celebrating the mothers in your life. I did get to spend a little time creating after the kids went to bed and I was having some fun with this month's Simon Says Stamp card kit. I love love love the stamp set included in the kit.

So many fun images and so many possibilitites. Here's a look at the cards I created.

Eternally grateful...

I loved the Webster's Pages trims included and used the lace here. I also paper pieced the heart images and added some 3D foam to pop them off the card. I finished the dots with a little Perfect Pearls in white.

For the roses I misted some white cardstock with Heidi Swapp Color Shine and stamped the images over the color, embossed them and then cut them out to place on the card. I added some Copic markers to make the color pop more and have some shading. 

I used the Perfect Pearls included to add some dimension to my punched border and the centers of the punched flowers. I also used the same colors of Copics to color the ribbon as well.

I love the colors of all the patterned paper included in the kit. It made creating these cards lots of fun.
