Cardmaking fun with some Rina K Designs Electro-Pop Neon Flock

Friday, April 10, 2020

Hello friends! It's been awhile I know and wow have things changed in the world. I hope you are all safe and well during this unprecedented Stay at Home order. I wanted to share with you some really fun products from Therm-o-Web and Rina K Designs. I created these projects for the blog last week.

Here's a look at the supplies I used to create these cards. Therm-O-Web's deco flock can really take your projects to another level. Rina K's fun Electro-Pop Neon colors look fabulous on black cardstock too!

I started out with some black cardstock and a fun Hero Arts stencil that I used Pixie Spray to adhere to the cardstock so that when I spread the Deco Foil transfer gel duo would stay in place.

Apply the gel generously and let dry overnight. It's also ready in about 90 mins but I personally prefer to allow to dry over night.

While that was drying I colored the hummingbird images with my Copic markers.

I then used my favorite white gel pen from Sakura to enhance my images.

Another fun way to use Copic markers is to die cut sentiments and color them in a gradient manner using darker and lighter shades of color. For the Hello I chose to use shades of purple.

The finished look turned out so fun. I also added some glitter stickles to the bottom where the darker purple was.

Here's my finished sentiment.

And my cute hummingbirds with the flocked cardstock.

Now that the Transfer Gel Duo has dried, simply place the flock, color facing down on the dried gel and run through your laminator.

Once it cools, gently peel back the sheet of Deco Flock to reveal the design. Easy, peasy.

The finished cards turned out stunning. This is an easy technique to achieve. Right now Therm-O-Web is offering free shipping when you spend over $25.

These cards were so fun to create.

I hope that you'll give these products a try. If you do, be sure and tag them on social media with #thermoweb #decofoil #rinakdesigns

Have a craftstic day!

Cards for Kids card making kit

Saturday, June 15, 2019

Hello friends! Today I wanted to share some cards I made using Anna Griffin's Cards for kids kit. It's available at HSN. This kit is so cute and fun. The colors are bright and beautiful and it has something for everyone!

Here's a look at what you get.

Here's what I was able to create using the kit. The king of the jungle fitted with his crown.

I used some of Anna's glitter paper to make these butterflies stand out.

Rainbows bursting with joy. Look at that sweet face.

Fun airplanes for the little guy.

Beautiful butterflies

I love this little seal! I think this one is my favorite.

There really is something for everyone in this kit. I hope Anna will make more kid-themed card kit but for now, I'm ordering a second box!

Birthday card toppers

Sunday, October 14, 2018

Hello friends! Today I am sharing some of my Birthday Collage Topper cards from Anna Griffin. These are from the September HSN show. I love how easy it is to create a quick card with these toppers. The already layered images make cards come together quickly and are perfect for that last minute card you need to create for someone special.

Here's a look at a few of my cards I created.

I love pink and those foiled birthday cakes from Anna!

For this card, I added one of the fan dies. Such a pretty addition to the card.

Layering your cardstock is the key to a pretty card. Use foam dots to create dimension.

Thank you or stopping by to take a look. I hope you're making something crafty today!

Deco Foiling on Handmade Ornaments

Monday, November 14, 2016

Hi friends, today I'm sharing a fun holiday gift idea using DECO FOIL™. I love making handmade ornaments for friends and family! Today I am sharing how to create this  ornament using vinyl and deco foil. Let's get started!

  pic-6wm
Therm-O-Web Supplies:

DECO FOIL™ TRANSFER SHEETS • RED
ICRAFT MIXED MEDIA ADHESIVE 2.1 FL OZ
12″ Foil Laminator

Other Supplies: Cricut Design Studio, Oracal 651 outdoor vinyl, Glitter Pom-Poms,
 Holiday Ribbon, Craft plastic ornament

Project Instructions: First, choose what you want to place on your ornament. I chose this Make it Now Charger in Design Studio. You are able to customize the project which I love. I sized the sentiment at 2.75 H Adhere a 3x3 piece of Oracle 651 vinyl onto the Cricut mat and cut the image making sure the vinyl setting is used. I chose red vinyl to blend with the foil color I would be using because the back of the image is visible once it's placed on the ornament.

Once the image is cut, use a weeding tool to get rid of the excess vinyl. Next, cut a piece of DECO FOIL™ TRANSFER SHEETS • RED at 3x3. Place the foil over the vinyl and run it thru the 12" laminator. After it has cooled, peel away the foil to reveal the foiled sentiment.

Next cut a 3x3 piece of transfer tape and rub over the sentiment. Gently lift the transfer tape making sure the foiled vinyl sticks. This make take a few tries. Then lay the transfer tape with your design over the clear ornament and burnish with your fingers making sure there are no bubbles.

Fill the ornament with whatever you like using a little bit of ICRAFT MIXED MEDIA ADHESIVE 2.1 FL OZ around the edge of the plastic ornament to glue it. Finish with a festive bow and string to hand on the tree.
