Hip Hop with a little inspiration from....

Wednesday, January 18, 2012

Yep you read that correctly! We're putting a spin on Hip Hoppin today with a theme! We thought you might need a new kind of inspiration with your Unity rubbah so the Design Team members have picked images from Pinterest and created a card, project or layout based on these images. If you haven't started the Hip Hop yet then head on over to the Unity blog first and find out what the scoop for today is!

OK...are you ready for my inspiration?

From the Pinboard of Katie Abel

Original image from the House of Smith.com which is one of my favorite blogs to get lost on.

And...here's my layout that I created using the Unity SMAK February kit! (see kit image below) and using a sketch from Page Maps.

Supplies: Crate Paper Random collection (Paper Posies November KOTM) Misc: heart doily and Maya Road kraft tag.

The image I chose inspired me to create a shabby chic feel on my layout of my daughter's first haircut. Yes she really was 4! I know what you're thinking...WOW 4 years without a haircut?? Yea, call me crazy but I could not bring myself to cut the hair that was at the end of her hair because it took her so long to get that precious head of hair.

So before I send you on your way today, do you know about SMAK? Learn about it here!

This is a precious layout! I totally understand about the hair. I also had a hard time with my daughter when she was little.

SUPER cute LO! My family tells me that I didn't get hair until I was at least 3. Your story of your daughter and her first haircut made me smile:)
