25 Days of Holiday Cards: Day 7

Sunday, December 7, 2014

Hello friends! Thanks for stopping by for another day of my 25 Days of Holiday cards. I hope you are enjoying the cards so far.

For today's card I used paper and embellishments from Anna Griffin. I love using these banner sentiments for cards. They made it easy to create this card fairly quickly.

I love using organza ribbon on cards because it makes beautiful, elegant looking bows.

How are you doing on your holiday cards? I have yet to get mine out but they are coming along.

Thanks for stopping by for today's card!

Have a creative day!

25 Days of Holiday Cards: Day 6

Saturday, December 6, 2014

Hello friends! I love weekends, don't you? Yes we have alot of activity's this weekend but I still love that everyone is home and we get to spend some down time together.

We got our Christmas tree yesterday afternoon and it's HUGE! For us apartment dwellers that is. It's 8 feet tall. Only problem was...we couldn't find the tree lights since we haven't had a real tree in awhile.

So off we went to Walmart in Torrance to purchase some...that was an adventure so memorable we'll never return to that particular Walmart again. Yikes.

I picked out some LED lights, got them home and on the tree...Yep. I don't like them. So today the hunt begins in the storage locker to dig up the tree lights.

Here's the tree as it sits right now, un-decorated for now.

Now onto Day 6's card

This card was created using Anna Griffin's Christmas Baubles embossing folder. I embossed two sheets of Anna's colored cardstock and then fussy cut and heat embossed one of the sheets. Then I cut out the ornaments and paced them over the matching ones on the solid cardstock. I popped them with 3D foam squares.

Thanks for stopping by for today's card!

Have a creative day.

25 Days of holiday Cards: Day 5

Friday, December 5, 2014

Hello friends!

Thanks for joining me for another card for my 25 Days of Holiday Cards. I hope you have enjoyed each card I have posted so far. I've already begun to receive Christmas cards in the mail. I love displaying them in my home.

Today's card was created with Anna Griffin's Christmas Kitsch cartridge.

I used a variety of Anna Griffin Perfect Palette cardstock and Christmas Kitsch patterned paper. The layers were easy to put together and I used some 3D foam to make the center pop.

Thanks for stopping by for today's card.

Have a creative day.

25 Days of Holiday Cards: Day 4

Thursday, December 4, 2014

Hello friends.

Thanks for stopping by for Day 4 of my 25 Days of Holiday cards. Since purple is my favorite color I found a way to incorporate it into a holiday card.

This card was inspired by this one I found Pinned on Pinterest. I used the Lil Inker Starry Sky die and a sentiment from Paper Smooches.

Silver and purple is a fun combination.

Thank you for stopping by!

Have a creative day!

25 Days of Holiday Cards: Day 3

Wednesday, December 3, 2014

Hello friends. Welcome back for Day 3 of my 25 Days of Holiday Cards! If you are stopping by for the first time scroll down for the first 2 cards and some info about this year's posts.

Today's card is great for mass producing.

I used the Pierced Snowflake from My Favorite Things and the Sentiment is Paper Smooches. I stamped my sentiment in Silver ink from Colorbox and added bling to the center of my snowflake. What did I use for the die cut? Silver origami paper. It cuts like butter in any die and I found 30 6x6 sheets for only $1.50.

How many holiday cards have you made so far? I am working on mine still.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Have a creative day

Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine Special Thanks! Blog Hop

Hello friends!

You should be arriving here from the My Favorite Things Blog. Thank you for making the journey to visit me today. All of this PC&S love is amazing!

I am not going to even try to hide the fact that I am biting my lower lip and have serious crocodile tears in my eyes writing this post.

With that said I can imagine you might understand how I and my fellow cardmakers are feeling today as we pay tribute to those who made Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking Magazine something truly magical and near and dear to our hearts.

Today is about the People Who Made it

I met Susan and Cath for the first time in January at Winter CHA 2010.

My first acceptance email from Susan came in Dec 2010 for this card in

Card Creations: Volume 9

My first project was titled Tropical Love

I remember how excited I was to finally get that acceptance email after submitting several times over the past year.

Paper Crafts magazine was the one piece of mail that would get me to stop whatever I was doing and sit down to take a look. I loved getting my issue each month and being inspired by all the hard work that went into each issue.

So in honor of all you, Jennifer, Susan, Stacy, Kerri, Holly, Matt and Melinda.

I made you a special card to say Thanks!

Thank you from my heart. I have so many thoughts swimming in my head about how I feel about each and every one of you. This seems to be the most meaningful sentiment I can offer today:

"Thank you for believing in me so I could believe in me"

With much love and appreciation,

Shemaine Smith

I will miss the Meet and Greet at CHA. Getting to know all of you and my fellow cardmakers there are memories I will never forget.

I loved this collage Susan put together that first year.

And the yearly group photo!!

Thanks for the Memories.

Now head on over to Spectrum Noir

25 Days of Holiday Cards: Day 2

Tuesday, December 2, 2014

Hello friends!

It's Day 2 of my 25 Days of Holiday Cards and I am thrilled that you have stopped by!

Today's card features a few die cut stickers from Anna Griffin's Winter Wonderland collection and one of my favorite elements to add to cards for a shabby chic feel, doilies! I think I have several dozen of them in my stash!

Die cuts make quick card making a snap. I adhere them with foam adhesive to make them POP.

Did you know the 99 cent store has Front Porch Treasures foam mounting tape. At 10 feet on a roll it's a steal!

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a creative day!

Christmas Kitsch

Monday, November 10, 2014

Hello friends. The countdown to the holidays is in full swing. How many of you are starting to make your holiday cards? I have started early with some Anna Griffin samples I created using her Christmas Kitsch Cricut Cartridge.

Anna's border die cuts were easy to incorporate with this design.

Anna's Holiday cardstock designs are easy to mix and match with these card designs from the Christmas Kitsch cartridge.

I loved this reindeer and tree combo. So cute!

Here's the same design as above but with a different color scheme.

If you haven't had the chance to try to new Cricut machine I have to say it is by far the best model they have come out with. it's easier than ever to navigate for sizing and cutting. I love creating with the Explore.
