Birthday Wishes

Saturday, October 18, 2014

Hello friends! Are you finishing up your May 2015 Submissions for the latest Papercrafts call? It's so less stressful submitting ahead of time. I'm talking about me of course. I've already submitted 4 cards to 3 different categories.

Today I am sharing my card for this week's My Favorite Things Get Sketchy Challenge.

I have gold and silver on the brain this week so of course for this sketch I used some cardstock and vellum from the Sheer Metallic collection by We R Memory Keepers.

Supplies: Sheer Metallic collection We R Memory Keepers, Stamp Set: Delicious Birthday, Darice Sparkle tape, EyeletOutlet rhinestones, My Mind's Eye Enamel dots. Adhesive: Therm-o-web sticky dot mini runner.

I always enjoy creating for this challenge. If you're interested in creating along with us this week then click the banner for more info.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I am off to edit the next 2 cards I made to submit.

I hope you have a creative weekend as well!

Albums Made Easy Monday: Creating your own pockets

Monday, June 30, 2014

Hello friends.
I'm thrilled to be sharing another Albums Made Easy Monday with you!
I have officially switched to the 4x4 Instagram pages for my Albums Made Easy pages. I take most of my photos using my iPhone and love using the Rhonna Designs app for journaling.
Then I print them out using my Canon Selphy

 It's a perfect combination!

Today I wanted to share a super quick and easy way to create your own pockets for your pages to hold tags, journaling, memorabilia and more!

 photo 6-30a1.jpg

I added a journal card made with Teresa Collins Hello Life Page kit, a few of the stickers in the kit and finished with a button and twine.

Here's my finished AME page

 photo 6-30b.jpg

I am really enjoying the week by week format. I find it easy and faster to print my photos and assemble the page with the 9 4x4 inserts.

 photo 6-30c.jpg

I prefer to use 4x4 photos but you could add several 2x2 images to the 4x4 inserts as well. I like to use Picasa.com for cropping my photos to 4x4 and 2x2 sizes. It's a free site.

That's it for this week's Albums Made Easy Monday! I'd love to see what you are creating so leave me a link to your pocket page projects!

Have a creative day!

SMAK Saturday!

Saturday, June 28, 2014

Hello friends! I'm creating with Unity's June SMAK kit
for SMAK Saturday on the Unity blog.

Here's a look at the June kit

{This Right Here}

I used the Unity {be Inpired} challenge colors and sketch for my pocket page inspiration.

Some pics from my recent trip to Arlington TX for GASC.

 photo JuneSMAK14.jpg

I use my iPhone for pictures daily and I love that Instagram saves them in the 4x4 format. The Rhonna Designs app helps me add journaling right onto my photos and my Cannon Selphy printer makes it easy to print, trim and slide them in these Instagram Page protectors from We R Memory Keepers.

Here's a look at the inserts I created with my SMAK images

 photo JuneSMAK14b.jpg

Creating my own inserts from Amy Tangerine's Plus One collection is easy. I just cut the cardstock from my 6x6 pad to 4x4 and stamped the SMAK images in grey and black ink. I look at each square as a mini layout and embellish them in my own personal style.

 photo JuneSMAK14c.jpg

Easy peasy!

Here's a look at the newest Unity SMAK kit for July!

ALL IN THE NUMBERS

This kit will not be found in stores! It is a special kit offered for the SMAK (Scrapbooking, Mixed-Media, Altered art, Kit) Membership Program. All stamps are deeply etched, red rubber, mounted on cling foam and are perfectly pre-cut! The overall size of the kit is an 8.5″ x 11″ sheet of rubber.

Super fun right?

Thank you for your visit today!

Have a creative day!

Albums Made Easy Monday: Thank you Texas friends!

Monday, June 23, 2014

Hello friends. It's been a week since I got back from teaching at this year's Great American Scrapbook Convention. I had such an amazing trip this year.

I really enjoyed getting into Dallas a few days early to spend some time with my dear friend Robyn Schaub.

The show this year was amazing! So many great classes and crafters! I really enjoyed bringing the Albums Made Easy System to my students.

My pages included a variety of techniques from creating with the new Sew Easy templates, stamping, using misting inks, utilizing dies and paper punches and more! Here's a look at my class featuring Teresa Collins Snapshot collection.

I love using this system of scrapbooking and I am very passionate about We R Memory Keepers products and quality. I am sure many of you have heard about American Crafts recent purchase of We R Memory Keepers. I too was surprised about this news. As a long time design team member, I have enjoyed creating monthly assignments, Product Scoops, samples for CHA and HSN as well as teaching classes and helping promote the We R Memory Keepers brand.

At this point I don't know if I'll be asked to continue designing with We R's products but I can assure you that my Albums Made Easy Monday's will continue.
I love sharing ideas with you for getting the most out of your Albums Made Easy collections!

Thank you for taking my classes featuring We R Memory Keepers products these past 3 years at The Great American Scrapbook Conventions as well as stopping by for my Albums Made Easy Mondays!

I appreciate your support and comments each week!

Have a creative day!

I can't wait for you all to learn the stitching technique we'll be doing in class using the Sew Easy Script template. I promise once you try this, you'll want to use it on all of your projects!

 photo IA1.jpg

Super fun and super cute! The new Sew Easy templates are fun and easy to use. I typically stitch my projects while my husband and I watch t.v. together at night. I love using them on AME inserts and the variety of thread colors that We R Memory Keepers has.

Here's a quick video for my Arlington students on how easy it is to use the templates.

I can't wait to share this fun technique with you all. See you this Friday and Saturday!

Have a creative day!

Albums Made Easy Monday: Letter Dies

Monday, June 2, 2014

Hello friends! Today I wanted to share an Albums Made Easy 4x6 insert I created using some of the letter dies that We R Memory Keepers has available.

I started with a 4x6 insert and layered a 3x4 insert. Then I layered in orange cardstock the notepage die from the Pocket Scrap Dies: Hello set. Then I added a few stickers from the Noteworthy sticker sheet and cut a flag and adhered with the tiny attacher. I finished it with a bow created from twine and a button and sequin.

I used the High Rise Alphabet to create my Great Day title. I love that you roll the die thru any cutting machine and get everything that you see here.

I hope you'll give these dies a try on your Albums Made Easy pages!

Thanks for stopping by!

Albums Made Easy Monday

Monday, May 26, 2014

I know...it's been too long! I'm so sorry I have missed my Monday Albums Made Easy posts. My mom came to visit for a month from Arkansas and I took full advantage of having her here to kit for my upcoming classes at GASC. We got so much done but it took up so much of my time that my blog has suffered.
I have really missed creating for these posts and I am so happy to be back sharing another AME tip with you today!

I wanted to share some ideas with you for creating with your Albums Made Easy inserts outside of your pocket pages and onto a 12x12 layout.

For this layout I used 2 4x6 inserts and 2 photos.

 photo 526E.jpg

One of the things I love about this system of scrapbooking is that you don't have to stick to the pockets. You can take the inserts and use them in creative ways on your scrapbook pages.

I love We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy system. We have 4 new templates that you can stitch up some really beautiful images or words to add to your layouts and projects.

On this project I wanted to show you that you don't need a template to have fun with your floss and Sew Easy Needle.

 photo 526A.jpg

 photo 526B.jpg

 photo 526C.jpg

I added a stitch on the bottom of the Albums Made Easy insert for fun.

 photo 526F.jpg

I added some stamped images, wood veneers, sequins and enamel dots that appear to trickle down my page.

 photo 526G.jpg

When I am done with my stitching I attach the ends of the thread to the back of the layout with washi tape. I used to knot the end when I started but then I realized that left a bump in my layout. This method keeps it smooth.

I hope you'll create your own template for stitching and share it with me on Pinterest. I've created a board to share our ideas and inspiration. If you're interested in being added then leave me your Pinterest name and I will send you an invite.

Thank you for stopping by for today's Albums Made Easy Monday!
I'll be back next Monday with another fun way to use your left over AME inserts!

Have a creative day!

Albums Made Easy Monday

Monday, April 7, 2014

Hello friends! Hope you all had a fantastic weekend. Thanks for joining me for another Albums Made Easy Monday. I'm so loving the new Teresa Collins lines for Albums Made Easy! Today I am creating with the Snapshots Page kit.

I loved using this kit for a Inst-Life page I created using We R Memory Keepers Instagram photo sleeves. I had my birthday a couple weeks ago and here are a few highlights of my special day.

 photo AME472014.jpg

I placed my photos in a tic tac toe arrangement and then used the remaining 4 inserts to add some fun ephemera, stamps and dies.

I used the Rhonna Designs App to add text to my photos. It makes journaling so much more fun since I really dislike my own handwriting. After I have edited my images, I  am can choose to save them as an Instagram size which makes the easy to print out on my Cannon Selphy.

Try using overlays and cutting them to 4x4 in size to alter. I used a couple on my layouts.

I hope you found some ideas here today for your next Albums Made Easy page!

Thanks for stopping by!

Albums Made Easy Monday: Insta Life

Monday, March 31, 2014

Hello friends. Thanks for joining me for another Albums Made Easy Monday. This week I want to share an idea for those of you that don't have a lot of time to spend scrapbooking.

I mentioned in my last Insta Life post that We R Memory Keepers had some 4x4 page inserts that were perfect for Instagram photos. Since I have my phone with me more than my camera I snapped a photo each day for a week.

Then I used the Rhonna Designs App to add the Day of the Week and other embellishments to the photos I took with my iPhone. I believe the app is 1.99 in iTunes.

At the end of the week I printed each of my images using my Cannon Selphy which prints a 4x4 image perfectly. You just need to trim away the extra length of the 4x6 paper.

I arranged each photo into the 4x4 Instagram photo sleeves and added my journaling.

 photo AMEMar31.jpg

Since there are 9 4x4 slots, you have two extra 4x4's to embellish as you chose.

 photo AMEMar31b.jpg

I used free cut file image I found from Pinterest for the celebrate life title and then I added a punched border strip and month die from My Favorite Things to My journaling card.

 photo AMEMar31a.jpg

I use the Xyron Sticker maker to add adhesive to die cut images.

The layout took me less than 30 mins to print and assemble. Not bad for someone who doesn't want to spend a too much time or alot of money putting their photos together.

I used We R Memory Keepers Snapshot Page kit by Teresa Collins for my inserts and journaling.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this quick way of memory keeping!

Have a creative day!
