Albums Made Easy Monday: Creating your own pockets

Monday, June 30, 2014

Hello friends.
I'm thrilled to be sharing another Albums Made Easy Monday with you!
I have officially switched to the 4x4 Instagram pages for my Albums Made Easy pages. I take most of my photos using my iPhone and love using the Rhonna Designs app for journaling.
Then I print them out using my Canon Selphy

 It's a perfect combination!

Today I wanted to share a super quick and easy way to create your own pockets for your pages to hold tags, journaling, memorabilia and more!

I added a journal card made with Teresa Collins Hello Life Page kit, a few of the stickers in the kit and finished with a button and twine.

Here's my finished AME page

I am really enjoying the week by week format. I find it easy and faster to print my photos and assemble the page with the 9 4x4 inserts.

I prefer to use 4x4 photos but you could add several 2x2 images to the 4x4 inserts as well. I like to use Picasa.com for cropping my photos to 4x4 and 2x2 sizes. It's a free site.

That's it for this week's Albums Made Easy Monday! I'd love to see what you are creating so leave me a link to your pocket page projects!

Have a creative day!

Albums Made Easy Monday

Monday, January 6, 2014

Thanks for joining me for Albums Made Easy Monday. Today I am sharing a project I made using our Instagram photo sleeves and the Albums Made Easy Blackboard collection. It's very similar to our Chalkboard collection but is done in black and white only.

I decided to use black and white photos for this project. I got some pretty bad glare coming off the 2 page spread when I photographed it but I do have some close ups.

I used some of my Unity Stamp Company SMAK images, bling strips from Eyelet Outlet and Recollections laser cut wood embellies.

To adapt the photos and inserts to the Instagram photo sleeves I simply cut the inserts to 4x4 as well as the photos and rounded the corners.

Since it's only the 2nd week of January there is still time for you to start your Albums Made Easy 52 week challenge. That's right friends. Creating one Albums Made Easy page or spread each week will help you record the many amazing things 2014 has in store for you and your families.

I have decided to use Instagram photos for my weeks. I love using the App on my iPhone and it's a great way to capture what we are doing each week.

Who's going to take the challenge with me?

I was thinking of setting up a Pinterest page that you can pin your creations to so we can all be inspired by one another.

I'll post more on that next Monday!

Have a creative day!

Albums Made Easy Monday

Monday, December 2, 2013

Hello friends! Sorry I have been unable to post an Albums Made Easy Monday post for the past couple of weeks. I have really missed this post. I am still away from my home during the day but thankfully I was able to be home the week of Thanksgiving and I was able to catch up a bit on some work including today's Albums Made Easy feature.

We R Memory Keepers November featured collection is Harvest

It's perfect for the fall photos and Thanksgiving memories.

I used the Hello, Life and Today Lifestyle Crafts Pocket Scrap dies and the Dainty Doily for today's page.

Something as simple as a little bling, die cut paired with patterned paper and some chipboard letters can make for a fun insert.

Start to finish this page took me 30 minutes. Dies can add some fun to your Albums Made Easy projects.

Thanks for stopping by!

Albums Made Easy Monday

Monday, November 4, 2013

Hello friends! It's hard to believe that Halloween came and went so fast this year. I hope you had fun with your littles. I had so much fun with my daughter but Friday I was totally beat from Trick or Treating. Those kids can go and go right?

So in today's post I am wrapping up using the Bewitched collection from We R Memory Keepers. next week I'll be featuring our Fall collection, Harvest.

I thought it would be fun to make a shaker insert from one of the die cuts in the Bewitched Albums Made Easy collection.

First choose what you want in your shaker

Next I cut a cellophane bag at the corner a little smaller than 3"x 4" so that the bottom and side were sealed. Then add the goodies inside that you want to use and use adhesive to seal the open side and top.

Then I used foam dots and place the shaker in the center and cover the top with the same die cut.

Here's the finished card. I added some washi tape and a fussy cut a snippet from another journal card with my Tiny attacher. (If you don't own this handy little tool from Tim Holtz, I highly suggest you use a coupon and purchase from Micahels, I love this tool!)

And here's how it looks in the Albums Made Easy page protector with some of the 4x6 and 3x4 inserts.

I hope you'll give today's technique a try and link up your posts if you share what you created on your personal blog or forum. I'd love to stop by and see them!

I love creating with the Albums Made Easy collection and hope you are gaining some useful tips and ideas from these weekly posts.

Please tell me what you think about today's tip. I'll be choosing one lucky commenter to win a mix of these Albums Made Easy inserts from the Bewitched collection.

If you have any questions about the Albums Made Easy system, feel free to leave a comment and I'll be happy to answer them.

Have a creative day!
