I used the Unity {be Inpired} challenge colors and sketch for my pocket page inspiration.

Some pics from my recent trip to Arlington TX for GASC.

I use my iPhone for pictures daily and I love that Instagram saves them in the 4x4 format. The Rhonna Designs app helps me add journaling right onto my photos and my Cannon Selphy printer makes it easy to print, trim and slide them in these Instagram Page protectors from We R Memory Keepers.

Creating my own inserts from Amy Tangerine's Plus One collection is easy. I just cut the cardstock from my 6x6 pad to 4x4 and stamped the SMAK images in grey and black ink. I look at each square as a mini layout and embellish them in my own personal style.

This kit will not be found in stores! It is a special kit offered for the SMAK (Scrapbooking, Mixed-Media, Altered art, Kit) Membership Program. All stamps are deeply etched, red rubber, mounted on cling foam and are perfectly pre-cut! The overall size of the kit is an 8.5″ x 11″ sheet of rubber.

Today I am sharing some pocket page scrapbooking inspiration with the May 2014 SMAK kit.

{Day Dreaming}

Here's a pocket page I created with some of the images from this fun kit.

It's easy to stamp images onto the pocket inserts. Just cut the inserts at 3x4 and round the corners. The stamp and embellish as you like. Have fun with them!

I think my favorite image in the set is the frame. So cute!

I made this page to go with a 12x12 layout I scrapped for my Albums Made Easy Monday post.

I love the Inked Rose collection by We R Memory Keepers. It's has beautiful images and colors.

Since Easter is this weekend I used some pastel colored inks from Colorbox to create with. SMAK kits are great for scrapbooking, mixed media and even everyday cards! Here's a look at some fun cards I created with the March kit!

Who doesn't love a little pink and black combo.

I am in love with this ink color right now.  It's Ocean by Colorbox.

Albums Made Easy Monday {The Insta-Life Project}

Hello friends. Thanks for joining me for this week's Albums Made Easy Monday. I love taking photos with my iPhone and sharing them on Instagram. Yep I am that lady you see photographing her food, my kids, park play, the beach...you name it! I love photographing our life and sharing it with family and friends we don't see everyday. I love that I don't have to lug around my Nikon everywhere we go.

So I wanted to start compiling those photos weekly. Sort of like Project Life but in my own way...

Let's call it Insta-Life:

 A week in my life thru Instagram photos.

We R Memory Keepers has 4x4 photo sleeves that make it a snap to get my photos off my phone and into my albums. 

Here's a look at the sleeve I am talking about.

12x12 Ring (9-4x4 Photo Sleeves)

I have my phone set to transfer my images to my laptop so I can easily find and edit them in Picasa. I am a home photo printer. I'm an impatient person, maybe it's the Aries in me but I am a NOW person so I use Picmonkey.com and Picasa.com to edit my photos so that I can print them right away

I own a Cannon Selphy and a HP All in One. Both do a great job printing my photos and both cost around $100.00.

In Picasa there is not a 4x4 option to print so I chose the 4x5 option and pick 4 photos to print. Then I click the "shrink to fit" tab and the photos turn to a little less than 4x4 in size like this.

I print them on 8 1/2 X 11 Kirkland photo paper from Costco. It's 19.99 for a 150 sheets. A great deal. Once they are printed, I cut them into the 4x4 Instagram size but just slightly smaller so that they slide easily into the sleeves like this.

I like to have the white boarder around my photos. You can also cheat and achieve this look by cutting white cardstock at slightly smaller than 4x4 and then cutting your photos down to mat.

I didn't have any of the 9 4x4 sleeves to start with So I used the 6 4x4 and 4 3x4 sleeve.

 I decided for my Insta Life pages I would go from Monday to Sunday and I used the We R Memory Keepers/Lifestyle Crafts die Oh Happy Day for the Month and some Basic Grey stickers for the dates.

The dies were easy to adhere using my Xyron 1'5 inch Sticker maker.

To add my own style I added some of my Unity SMAK kit images and some simple embellies.

 

I affixed this flower on the outside of the photo sleeve. I also stamped the best friends image directly on my photo with Staz-On ink.

So there you have it. My Insta-Life March 3-9

Albums Made Easy Monday

Hello friends! It's another Albums Made Easy Monday and today I am bringing you some inspiration for creating with you AME inserts.
Sometimes I like to mix in a 12 X 12 layout with my Albums Made Easy pages like I shared last week.
Today I am taking it a step further and sharing a page made with Albums Made Easy inserts and my SMAK kit images from Unity Stamp Co.

I used a 4x6 insert for the main focus and to frame the photo. Next I added the tag and stamped the airplanes image onto the tag.

Don't be afraid to fussy cut images from your photo inserts and use them in your layouts. I don't typically scrap one photo layouts but it seemed appropriate for today's design. Scrapbooking should be what you are feeling. The way you want to express your photos and memories. Don't forget that.

I love using stamped images to create with. The January SMAK kit, Adventure was perfect  for my layout today.

Inspiration from design failure

Hello friends. Today I'm sharing something I created after having a little design failure with this week's upcoming Stamp of the Week. Now I can't show you my failed card but I can share with you the journey that led me to create this...

After being a little frustrated over my failed design with this week's Stamp of the Week, I headed over here

   

 And I came across this image Pinned by Angela Ploegman

I loved the water color, multi-colored technique Danielle used with this Papertrey Ink image and the gold sequin. It made me remember the wood feathers I had in my stash and how great they might look with some of Heidi Swapp's Color Shine.

So I started with the feathers, misting them with two of my favorite shades, Chartreuse and Teal. I also thought a background would be a fun so I used the heart background from my Unity Stamp Co. December SMAK kit  (You are LOVED) stamped in Studio G's grey pigment ink.

 Then I chose my sentiment, the Love This from Simon Says Stamp Love This set. I wish I had a LIFE stamp for the inside but I couldn't find anything I liked and when I looked at it, I don't think Love This really made sense until I added the Thank You image from Technique Tuesday. Finally, I finished the card off with some sequins and bling.

And there you have it, my inspiration from failure card. I can tell you that once I finished this card, I knew exactly where to begin with try #2 of my Stamp of the Week image.
