Albums Made Easy Monday

Monday, October 14, 2013

Hello and thanks for stopping by for Albums Made Easy Monday. It's October and We R Memory Keepers is featuring the Bewitched collection all month long. I don't know about you, but Halloween is my favorite month next to Christmas. It's not about the scary stuff, but rather planning what my daughter and son are going to dress up as, decorating our house and spending time as a family going out to the annual Halloween Frolic and trick or treating.

This week's tip is for the 4x6 Journal cards. I told you how I love to trick them up and I found a great way to help me design some fun ones.

I love the inspiration I find at the Reverse Confetti blog and I especially love their monthly sketch for you to try feature.
So I took this week's sketch and used it as the inspiration for my journal card.

Here's how I used it in this week's 2 page Albums Made Easy spread

Halloween 2012

For my process, I like to choose my photos first. For a 2 page spread I print 4 4x6 photos and 4 3x4 photos. Then I choose my journal cards and let my creativity go. I didn't copy the sketch exactly but rather adapted it for my design. For the circles I used a 1" pointed circle punch by Martha Stewart (one of my most faves) and some fun Punky Sprouts lil seeds buttons with twine bows.

I hope you'll find this tip useful and will give it a try! I'd love to see what you come up with so please link up your Albums Made Easy or Project Life pages so I can stop by and take a look.

Here's this week's video

Have a creative day!

Hi Shermaine :) Thanks for answering my question. I will have to look into the Harvest set from WRMK. Also, I thought it cool you used a card sketch to dress up the journaling card... I hardly ever make cards so never think to look at how I could use those sketches for embellishments or even layouts...
