Hey it's Friday! Yay!!! I can tell my sweet hubby has been really looking forward to today. He has a job in sales and it's not an easy gig let me tell ya! I love him immensely for enduring the up and downs of his job everyday so I can be home with the kids and supporting me in my paper crafting hobby. He's always a great sport and gives me positive feedback on my projects. Love you Babe! OH and I promise you'll have clean laundry tonight!

So this week at Jacksonbelle Embellishments we're featuring Daisy D's products and they're 25 percent off! Many item's are only $1! Here's a quick layout I created for Unity's crinkle challenge for the Hip Hop using Daisy D patterned paper.

My dad caught this photo of me kissing my sweet new baby girl on her birth day July 18, 2007 right after they brought her to me after her 1st bath. For some reason the mega pixels were bad and the image wasn't the greatest so I blurred it with a focal point on Picasa since I don't have Photo shop. It doesn't matter really if the pic not great I'm happy to have a memory of that moment.

Next I used the same paper and emebellies for a card

I love using raffia to make leaves on my cards. It's a fun technique I learned awhile back from the Hero Arts designers. The middle of the flowers is a Sun shaped paper punch. Love that!

Tonight I'm looking forward to baking the cakes and getting the rest of the party necessities ready for Lily's Special day!

Hip~Hodge Podge Happpiness~Hooray!!!

Happy Hip Hop!!! Today is the big Hodge Podge of Happiness reveal. Yep! You can get your hands on this amazing kit here!

I{heart} this kit! Voting on the images in the Splitcoast forum and knowing that I was a part of this kit coming together makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! I am also so excited to be Guest Designing for the entire month of July at Unity!

I love the mix of images and the focus of family. So many possibilities!

Speaking of family, my sweet daughter is turning 2 this Saturday. I can hardly believe that it's been two years since her birth. I've dreamt all my life of having a daughter and not a day goes by that I don't praise God for his amazing blessing. My family is my world and scrapping all our moments together is my true passion.

So in honor of my daughter's 2nd birthday I scrapped a layout about her birth day using a few images from this amazing kit. I of course look terrible but I still feel the joy I felt that day when I hold her. Ok I promise I'm not gonna cry...

I so loved this day!

Here's a close up of the tree I paper pieced the trunk and my journaling.

I also want to share a super quick frame I made with the set UK-408A Everyday Adorable This frame comes unfinished at Michaels for a buck and I used one sheet of Sassafras paper with the cute scalloped border from my July Paper Posies kit. I traced the frame and cut out the patterned paper using Zip Dry glue and sanded the edges, stamped the Unity images in Chocolate brown ink and embossed and added a cute Prima flower. Adorable huh! Makes a great gift for family.

Monday Love from Unity!

Good Monday Morning! I love Mondays! It's a chance to start fresh and wipe the slate clean from the previous week. Mondays in Blog land are exceptional because their are new challenges posted on 2Sketches4You and other challenge blogs I love.
Today is an exceptional Monday because my work is being featured on the Unity Blog today! I created a couple layouts with some of my favorite Unity kits. I love how this layout turned out of my sweet Lily.

For this layout I used the Bevy of Butterflies set I got from Unity for signing up as a KOTM member in June. The paper is by Scrap Within Reach and the fun letters are My Little Shoebox. I also used some Kaiser bling and Prima felt vine and flower.

I made this layout with the July Paper Posies kit and my favorite Unity kit Love is in the Air. I absolutely love the hot air balloon image.
I am so thrilled to be the Guest Designer for the month of July! I'll be creating something fun with Unity for this week's Hip Hip so stop back by!

12 Pictures and a new sale at Jacksonbelle Embellishments!

What a day! I've been going non stop since we got up this morning. The party planning is in full swing! I'm so thrilled that my sweet little girl is celebrating her birthday in just 6 days! Lily's 2nd birthday party is next Saturday and I'm wrapping up all the plans and gathering what I need to throw a Wubzy party!

I'm going to make this cake with the help of my super talented friend Heidi

Heidi also mentioned this great blog to me called 12 of 12. The concept is this:

Twelve pictures of your life, taken the twelfth of the month! Remember the details, remember the routines, remember the way things really are!

I love this concept and this will be my first month playing! Here goes!

We set out to Toys R Us to pick up Lily's birthday gift and found this personalized cup that Lily went nuts over. She didn't put it down the WHOLE day!

After Toys R Us not having the kitchen we wanted in stock we headed to the South Bay galleria for lunch at Red Robin.

Mom had to get another shot of us girlies, a friend of mine Angela thinks these shots are the best!

While we were waiting for food Lily was making fish lips and momma caught it!

After lunch we made our way upstairs to The Disney Store to make a very special purchase.

Yes, you guessed it! Lily's very 1st princess party dress!

Lily loved the heels {notice the cup? See I told you she wouldn't put it down}

She spent a lot of time looking at the shes and was lovin the flip flops. She is SO her mother's daughter!

We finally settled on the Belle dress since Wubzy is dressed in yellow too! Daddy was a good sport and shelled out the cash for his daughter's party wear and let me snap his pic. Love you babe for indulging my girlish notions.

Then it was time to hit Costco and Lily and the cashier were talking about her special cup

Finally on the ride home, Lily got a visit from the sand man. Pretty great he makes automobile calls...

And finally while I was cooking dinner I came into the living room to find all of the bins behind Lily emptied all over. I looked around and declaired "Lily this is one hot mess girl!" To which she gestured at me a thumbs up. Hmmm looks liked Daddy is rubbing off on his little girl.

That's 12 photos of the 12th day of July! What fun we had!!

It's Hip Hop and time to Frame this Alpha!

Good Morning! This is my second fantastic week as Unity's Scrapbook Guest Designer!
Quick somebody pinch me cause I can hardly believe that my blog is linked with all this amazing artwork from the super talented Unity Design Team girls!

This week's Hip Hop we are featuring the new Frame this Alpha Set! Now as a scrapper I tend to lean more toward Thickers for my titles but after using this Unity set on my project I have SO many more ideas swimming around in my scrappy little head. I can't wait to ink it up again! You can see the set here in the store.
Here's my layout

I used Summer Soiree by Fancy Pants. The paper had an awesome scene so I let it be a big part of the layout and added some Stickles for dimension. For my title I used the tag stamp in the Frame this Alpha set and stamped the title inside. I added some stitching too! A new thing for me that I love how it turned out. Below is a close up.

I Stickled the stitching in the patterned card stock here too and embossed the Splash title


And lastly a close up of the waxy flax I used to connect to the tags like a clothesline. I enjoyed creating this layout. What a fun and versatile stamp set!

Today is Micheal Jackson's memorial here in Los Angeles. It's being broadcast live from Staples Center and I've been watching it since it started this morning. It's hard not to feel the sadness of losing such a talented singer and performer.
Micheal Jackson was bigger than life. Some of my best teenage memories were dancing to his music with my best friend Tiffany Selby in her amazing dance room. Thriller booming from the ceiling speakers and two girls sweating their pants off learning the choreography from the video.
Summer time trips to Santa Barbara with Smooth Criminal playing in my Sony Walkman {yes long before Ipods} I loved Micheal Jackson's music. It made me dance, smile and feel good about myself.
Micheal tried to share himself with us thru his music. He tryed to let the world in by writing Have you seen my childhood? He tried to explain Neverland and his eccentrics in this song about himself and asked us one thing...
Before you judge me, try hard to love me,
Look within your heart then ask,
Have you seen my Childhood?

Micheal wanted to heal the world with his music. The songs he sang were moving and powerful. He wrote this in Man in the Mirror...

As I turned up the collar on
A favorite winter coat

Pretending not to see their needs

Remember Micheal for his music, his love and the kindness he showed so many.

For my take I chose to turn my card into a birthday invite using the It's a Party stamp set by Lizzie Ann Designs. I wanted to personalize this year's invite for family and friends so I decided to include a photo of the birthday girl.

Home Sweet Home

I'm HOME!!!! I had a great time visiting my parents in Arkansas. It was really hard leaving my mom. She's really my best friend and her living so far away has been so hard the past year and a half or so. I really miss her.
My parents have a beautiful home and lots of land for the dogs to roam around on and my dad is busy building her a great craft room to boot! I am happy that my parents have a nice life in Arkansas even if it is so far from CA.
I have to share this photo. It's my dad "grillin in the rain" on the 4th. Love this! Good times and good burgers Dad!

Hip Hop Hangover and my 2 Sktches 4 You challenge card

Hey it's Friday! Although we are enjoying our visit with mom and dad I am ready to go back home. I miss my hubby, I miss my own bed and I miss my scrap space! The time we've been here has gone by pretty fast. We'll be heading home Sunday.
Yesterday's Hip Hop was so much fun! It was great seeing my artwork included in the hop and I really appreciate all the sweet comments everybody left for me here. Wow I can hardly believe that I had over 30!
Today I want to share the card I made using the pocket and sentiment from the July KOTM from Unity for the 2 Sketches 4 You challenge.

And my take using the pocket and sentiment from July's KOTM from Unity. The flowers are from the Bevy of Butterflies set. Love it!


I used strips of paper and folded them and attached the flowers with a glue dot to make the flowers 3D. I also folded a piece of scrap paper inside the pocket to make it appear full.

Next is my card for the challenge yesterday using the color yellow.

Hip Hop!

Hip Hop Hello! I am SO excited to be this month's scrapbooker Guest Designer for Unity! Be sure and start at Angela's blog here so you don't miss a single display of the July Kit of the Month from the fabulously talented Unity Design Team.

I could not wait to play with those cloud stamps and immediately envisioned a layout with Prima Say it In Crystals.

I took these pics of the kids last week. Scott was playing Star Wars Lego on my Mom's Nintendo DS and Lily was completely into the game as well. Too cute. I used the sun journaling stamp to write a little about the photos so the kids will be able to look back and remember our trip.

Excuse the non cropped picture of my layout. I am visiting my parents in Arkansas til this Sunday and frankly I don't have a backyard in Los Angeles. I just love all the trees and green lush grass around my Mom and Dad's place.

Here's a close up of my clouds I stickled. Who doesn't love Stickles! I had lot's of fun creating this layout!
