Sending Sunny Thoughts

Sunday, March 31, 2019

Hello friends! Today I am sharing a card I made using the new Gina K Designs Stamp n Stencil along with the brand new Glitz glitter gel. These new products are so much fun and easy to create with.

First I stamped images from the Crazy Daisy and Petals & Wings Stamp n Stencil sets with Gina K. Designs inks. I love working with these ink squares because the colors are so vibrant.

Once I stamped all the images I wanted to possible use, I then matched the coordinating dies and cut them out using my die cut machine. I played with them a bit arranging them in the shape of a wreath to see how I wanted to use each piece.

Using the coordinating stencil and a darker shade of purple, I inked the center of the light purple die cut flowers.

To the center of the larger flowers, I applied the Glitz glitter gel in the turquoise sea and the stencil to the centers. Once it dried the detail was very vibrant.

I measured my cardstock to 4 1/3 X 5 1/3 and stamped my sentiment in the center so that I could build the wreath around it.

I arranged the die cuts how I liked the look the best and then used our 3D foam squares to adhere to the die cuts to the card base.

I finished off the card with a beautiful bow and now we have a beautiful finished card.

Here's a look at all the supplies I used and a bonus card!

I hope you'll give these products a try with your next creation. Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday cake jacket die

Wednesday, March 27, 2019

Hello friends! I'm catching up on some saved posts this weekend. Today I have 3 cards to share that I created using Anna Griffin's Birthday Cake Jacket card die. This die is super versatile because you can easily create a variety of themes.

For the first card, I used some flocking for the layers of the cake and foiled cardstock to accent. I love this color combination.

I added some cute purple bows and flowers from Anna's die cuts to embellish the cake and tied a pretty bow on the fold of the card.

For the second card, I went with more traditional wedding colors.

I started with a piece of embossed white pearlescent cardstock. Next, I used the white deco flock sheet for the cake layers and added die cut flowers. I finished the card with a bow and sentiment.

And for the last card, a little more feminine look with a pink cake. This die is so fun to work with. You can create a variety of themes beyond weddings with it.

Check out these dies and more from Anna Griffin at HSN.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Valentine and other card creations

Monday, February 11, 2019

Hello friends! Today I am sharing a variety of Valentine cards that I made using Anna Griffin dies and paper. Some are everyday occasions too!

The foil cardstocks cut with dies really add dimension to the cards.

Purple is my favorite color so this card was a favorite of mine.

These gold butterflies are a fun addition. Use some 3D foam squares from Therm-O-Web and they look like they are floating on the card base.

Anna's Easel cards are so fun to create with. You can add pretty much any die or embellishment to make some beautiful cards. Who wouldn't want to get a card like this?

Monday, December 3, 2018

Hello friends! Welcome back to day 11 of my 25 Days of Holiday cards! I apologize for being a bit behind this week. I'm scheduling these and had a bit of a hiccup!

Today's card features Anna Griffin and Therm-O-Web products.

I embossed a sheet of foiled cardstock and layered a designer toner sheet I foiled using Deco Foil. Then I finished the card with an Anna Griffin Holiday Card Topper and bow.

These cards were easy to create and could be duplicated quickly if you wanted to create several at once.

Thanks for stopping by today!

25 Days of Holiday Cards Day 9

Saturday, December 1, 2018

Hello friends and welcome back for day 9 of my 25 Days of Holiday cards.

I have been designing for Anna Griffin since 2010. Over the last 8 years, I have created a variety of Christmas cards that I haven't shared on my blog. So for the next couple of days, I am diving into my archives to share some of these cards.

Today's card features Anna Griffin's poinsettia dies from 2016. I cut glitter cardstock along with vellum and layered them to create this beautiful focal point on my card.

I finished the card with a 3D sentiment. I find that most of my cards have several layers. I love to frame pattern paper with glitter paper and emboss pattern paper. These techniques really add something extra to my cards.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Hello friends! Welcome to Day 7 of my 25 Days of Holiday cards! Today's card is from Anna Griffin's Shaker Christmas Card kit.

These cards were fun and easy to put together. The sequins come in a prefilled pouch that's easy to attach to the card base. The inside of the card is pre-printed with a festive message that shows thru the window. Then you just decorate the front. So fun and so cute!

Hello friends and welcome back for day 6 of my 25 Days of Holiday Cards.

Today's card features a fun die set from Spellbinders called Truckin through the Seasons.
I signed up for their card and die subscription and have been having so much fun creating with my kits! I love that I could put the Christmas tree in the back of the pickup truck. The dies were really fun to create with.

If you're interested, you can see how to cut and put this cute truck together in this video by Spellbinders.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! See you tomorrow with another card!

Today's card is featuring the mini botanical dies by Anna Griffin. I paired them along with her Perfect  Pattern Christmas cards and Holiday Card toppers. I used glitter and foil paper for the dies to make them stand out.

I love those little bows. They are so cute and perfect for tags as well.

25 Days of Holiday Cards Day 4

Monday, November 26, 2018

Hello and welcome back for Day 4 of my 25 Days of Holiday cards.

For today's card, I started with a Perfect Pattern cards for Christmas card base, used an embossing folder on foiled cardstock and layered patterned cardstock along with an ornament die from Anna Griffin.

I finished the card off with a sentiment and bow die.

What's your go-to technique for card making? Are you a stamper only or do you like to use dies only? Do you like to use stamps and dies?
I find I like to use both. When mass producing cards, I like to go for a simple design. I love to hear your thoughts. Leave me a comment below.

Thanks for stopping by today!

25 Days of Holiday Cards Day 3

Sunday, November 25, 2018

Hello friends and welcome back for Day 3 of my 25 Days of Holiday Cards!

For today's card, I made a masculine holiday card using Anna Griffins Christmas Sentiment Dies.

First I chose some pattern paper that was masculine and then cut the sentiment die and made it the focal point of the card. The two patterns really compliment each other well and these dies really are versatile and fun to create with!
I finished the card with the ornament top die and layered a twine bow.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

25 Days of Holiday Cards Day 2

Saturday, November 24, 2018

Hello friends! It's Day 2 of my 25 days of Holiday cards!

Today's card features the mini Christmas stickers and sentiments. These are fun the layer on the card over the ornament die I used.

I used Therm-O-Web's 3D foam stickers to adhere the mini die cuts to the card base. I love using these foam squares to add dimension to all of my cards.

Another tip for making several cards at once is to die cut several of the ornament dies and pre-cut your layers. Then you sit down and assemble your cards quickly.

Thank you for stopping by today!

25 Days of Holiday Cards Day 1

Friday, November 23, 2018

Hello friends! Welcome to another year of 25 Days of Holiday cards. For the next 25 days, I'll be sharing a variety of handmade card creations. I hope you will get some inspiration to make your own cards.

Kicking off this year's 25 days is a card I created using Anna Griffin's new plaid pattern papers and the Christmas sentiment dies.

For this card, I also used Anna's glitter paper and adhesive from Therm-O-Web to create my shaker card.
I filled my shaker with gold sequins and Christmas trees from the shaker die collection.
Want to make your shaker cards really move? Add some microbeads. You can pick them up at any craft store. They really help the other items you fill your shaker cards with move more freely.

So that's it for today! 24 more cards to go! I hope you'll come back and check out the rest!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Unity + My Sweet Petunia Hop and Brown Thursday Releases

Thursday, November 8, 2018

Hello Unity friends! We are so excited to be teaming up with My Sweet Petunia for today's Hop!

The hop list can be found at the Unity Stamp Company Blog HERE and on the My Sweet Petunia Blog HERE.

For today's HOP, I created a fun card using my Misti and the brand new Unity image titled:

O'Holy Blessed Night by Tierra Jackson

Inking up stamped images in the Misti is a snap! Some people like to remove the grid pages when they have rubber cling mounted stamps but I find that my image stamped just fine with them.

I like to emboss my stamped images before I color them with my Copic markers.

Here's my finished card.

I also inked up the new image

A Time Of Peace by Tierra Jackson

Make sure you visit Unity's Website to ALL the new releases. There is SO much more to show you there.

And don't forget! We have Prizes to giveaway!!

Unity will be giving away 2 Unity filled prize packs and My Sweet Petunia is giving away a $60 gift certificate. If you like to use the verbiage below, you are welcome to or make it your own.
We have TWO amazing Unity filled prize packages to give away PLUS a $60 gift certificate to My Sweet Petunia. Leave a comment on EACH design team member’s blog in the hop for your chance to win. You have until Monday, November 12th to leave a comment. Winners will be picked and announced Tuesday, November 13th on the Unity Stamp Company and My Sweet Petunia blogs.
