Get em while you still can!

Wednesday, April 27, 2011

Hello friends! Today we are reminding you all that these stamps are retiring on April 29th! Make sure your first stop today is the Unity blog here to get all the deets.
Yes it's been real and it's been fun creating with these early Unity gems. Oh looking thru my gallery brought back sweet memories! I found a fun layout I created with one of the retirees, Owl Be Mine

It all started with a simple act of kindness....

My favorite day of the week is Hip Hop

OK get out your hankies cause here's where it gets real. I found Unity surfing the net for challenge sites because I had newborn baby girl and was seriously fighting the baby blues. I had worked full time since the age of 16 and here I was home with a baby and no one to talk to so I turned to the internet to try to connect to people. Well in my search I came across the Hip Hop and Oh did it make me happy! So many sweet ladies to chat with, cute and fun stamps to win every week! I swear my early Unity was all freebies (thanks for that too!) and boy was I thankful! Giving up my management salary left us clippin coupons and having date night with the Tivo so expendable income for crafty stamps was not in the budget.
Ok...so flash forward to a random Hip Hop where Ang and the gang are chattin up CHA and I'm like "what's CHA?" and I swear I heard  gasp come thru cyber space because as soon as Ang found out I had never been...well she offered up a ticket into the show. That ticket is the very one I refer to as my "golden ticket" so I went, I saw, I hugged new friends and here I am years later a designer for this amazing company! Dreams really do come true! Thanks for believing in me Ang.

I gotta tell ya, this is still only the beginning for me...OK...if you made it thru all that, you ROCK!

More jewels on Day 3

Hello friends! Our i-Rock release continues today on the Imaginisce blog. I can't say enough about the i-Rock and how awesome it is to be able to bling just about anything. These hot rocks are so fun and easy to apply to everything you'd like to add a little shine to.

Today I have a project to share with you. I picked up a shirt on clearance a Target and used the Large flourish to create a pattern along the collar.

This shirt took me about an hour from start to finish to create. I laid the template down where I wanted it on the shirt and used a Zig black pen to mark dots where the bling would go. Once dot for the small, 2 dots for the medium and 3 dots for the large hot rocks.

Here's another quick project

I used the Little Cutie paper to Modge Podge onto canvas. Then I used my Cricut Expression and the Cindy Loo font cart for the monogram. In the cut out I added the new Hot rock glitter compact to accent the Monogram.
Make sure you head over to the Imaginisce blog for your chance to win some of these fabulous new products! Thanks for stopping by today!

Tuesday, April 19, 2011

Hello friends! I am so excited to share some work I created for my Guest Design spot for The Girl's Loft. I love The Girl's Paperie collections so when I got my April Jubilee kit in the mail I dove in!

It's a Girl card sentiment from Unity Stamp Co.

Happily ever after card, sentiments by Unity Stamp Co.

I added some Eyelet Outlet Dove brads to "hold" my banner and some American Crafts Thickers hearts and corner frames

Here's a fun layout I scrapped of some pics of Miss Erin and I from CHA. I just love this girl!

And finally a little altered goodie since Mother's Day is just around the corner, May 8th!

I really enjoyed Guest Designing for The Girl's Loft. A huge thanks to Margie for asking me and the fantastic kit!
Have a crafty day!

Hello Friday!

Friday, April 15, 2011

Hello friends! So glad that it's Friday. I have been pretty busy at home with my new daycare baby who is 4 months old, my own 3 1/2 year old that's into everything these days and lots of crafting deadlines. Not sure if many of you know but I provide private care for one infant in my home so that I can be home for my own children. I love doing this because it's a win/win for both of us moms. I got a new daycare baby a week ago and she is so sweet. I'd love to show you all a pic of her soon but I need to ask permission from her mom first.
Lily has been wonderful adjusting to a baby in the house and the sweetest thing ever is that when we were out shopping last night she asked me to buy her a baby she saw in the store that had a bottle and teddy bear. She told me "Mommy I need to feed that baby!" I snapped a pic of her this morning with her new baby who she has appropriately named "Baby"
