Hi friends! I've been a busy scrapper this weekend! I'm so happy that I got some of my mojo back! After getting sick again on Friday and feeling worse Saturday I was so tired of feeling blue so I took a bunch of Sudafed and scrapped away my cold! Here's a layout I scrapped with Imaginisce's new Live Loud line. Our team member Melinda Spinks scrapped an amazing layout on a record and I was inspired to scrap my layout with a 45. Hubby and I went to the Thrift Store to look around last Friday when my SIL watched Lily for us and I found a Crystal Gayle 45 for 5 cents. Here's what I came up with

And here's a card I made with the same line based on the Paper Crafts sketch call

My husband doesn't comment on my projects other than to tell me that he thinks I am really talented ( {grin} I love you babe) but with this card he told me he absolutely dug it!

Next I scrapped up Jillibean Soup's Friday sketch challenge



Here's my take on the sketch

I used my itop brad maker to make my own brads and one of the Martha Stewart punches to layer the flower. I am in love with Kraft paper right now!

Oh and speaking of Kraft, the card I made with Unity and Kraft made the Fab 5 at 2Sketches4You! Thanks for liking my card ladies. I love playing along each week and the DT is absolutely fabulous and inspiring over there!
Here's another card I made with my Slice cartridge Farm life. OK I will admit I'm slightly addicted to this bunny for Easter cards....

This one I made for the Cards blog challenge 3" cards only. It was featured Friday along with all the other amazing designers cards! So much talent there girls!

Challenge Wednesdays

I love card challenges. They really help me get cards made up for birthdays and other occasions. So I think I'm going to post my challenges on Weds since I've got DT posts to do during the week. Here's a challenge I did for Embellish magazine's color challenge. These colors were a challenge for me honestly

Here's my take with my Feb Unity KOTM and Cosmo Cricket mixed with Making Memories flutter line.
Next up is this week's sketch from Card Patterns

I flipped the sketch and used Basic Grey's new Kioshi line. I love the purple in this line. I also love Hero Arts adorable little girl stamps wood block stamps.

And finally this week's 2Sketches4You sketch from the talented Laura.

And my take on the sketch using a fun doilie I got in the $ bin at Michaels and some more of the Kioshi line from Basic Grey. That hounds tooth pattern in the soft pastels is fabulous! Not to mention the yummy ribbon from Paper Tray ink. Oh yes I must re-order some more colors.

Diggin on Doilies- a Moxie Fab Challenge

I love the Moxie Fab blog and I visit it daily with my cup of morning Joe in hand. I love to read Cath's fantastic posts and get inspired by the go to gals and everyone that plays along with Cath's challenges.
Earlier this week I discovered a couple of containers I'd purchased in spring colors last year to hold my spring holiday decor had gotten water in them from our recent rain storms and ruined all of my Easter and St Patty's decorations. I was beyond heart broken because they weren't just decorations, they were memories too. So when Sunday came I decided to head off to Michaels for a bit of crafty retail therapy and came home with an idea in my head based on Cath's Diggin Doilies and Lace Challenge. Here's what I spent the afternoon creating

Remember my earlier post about re-using what you have already?

Well here's what I was re-purposing that Anna Griffin chipboard letters for. A new and fresh Easter banner.

It's super hard to photograph Banners and I will try again if I get better light tmr for sure. The chipboard flower book was .50cents, Prima flowers were on sale for 2.39 and the doilies for 1.99 for a package of 25. I also used some American Crafts pattern paper behind the letters that I ran thru my Cuttlebug and then inked with Ranger distress inks. I added the 2 Easter sprays with the cutest blue bunnies that cost 1.99 each to the ends and twisted the stems so I could use them as the hangers for the banner. I thought about spraying the doilies with another shade of Glimmer Mist like I did the chipboard but decided leaving them white made them stand out more and look authentic.
And the glue that held it all together... Tombow MONO AQUA Liquid Glue of course! It's the best for altered projects! I got this fab prize pack from Joanna when I was a Guest Designer on the Tombow blog. It was loaded with lots of goodies including their liquid glue.

What I love about Sundays and a tip on how to re-use what you have

It's no secret that my favorite thing to do on Sundays is craft. It all starts with a trip to Michaels and from there it's all about whatever inspires me. The store is loaded with Easter and Spring decor right now and I love to decorate my home for my family and they enjoy it too.
When I was dating my husband he revealed to me on our honeymoon how much he enjoyed coming over to my apartment during the holidays just to see what I'd come up with for decorations. He said that this was one of the qualities he loved about me and my creativity.

So anyway, I was inspired to turn some pussy willows into an Easter decoration. It's still a work on progress but here's a little peek...

Here's a quick basket I put together and a little trick to bring your goodies to the top of your baskets. Use packing peanuts to fill your basket or newspaper and then spread decorative grass over the top to cover and then just add your goodies. Super easy. I actually keep packing peanuts under my bed lol. Guess they finally came in handy.

Now on to a great tip I want to share with you today.

I was disappointed at Micheals earlier today when I couldn't find some glitter chipboard that Making Memories makes and I was going to head over to the other Michaels near my house when it occurred to me that I had lots of chipboard and glitter at home. So my wheels started spinning and I remembered that my friend Heidi had given me some chipboard awhile back that I wasn't able to use because the color scheme.

So then I thought, maybe I can peel off the printed patter and alter it without having to paint it. Sometimes I want to whip up a project fast, you know what I mean :) I mean we all like to be able to create something in an hour or less...

So I peeled the patterned paper off easily and had bare chipboard

Next I found some craft bond in my stash that I could quickly spray on instead of having to use liquid glue. I've found that this spray is he best adhesive for glitter because it doesn't clump or hold too much glitter on your project

You just sprinkle on your glitter and shake the paper to even the glitter and then tap off the excess. You do get a bit of sticky on your fingers but that's all fair in love and glitter right?

And voila! You've got re-purposed chipboard!

I can't wait to show you what I'm making using this chipboard but I'm not quite done yet!

Party Party & 2 S4Y!

Today was a busy day running the kids around. Scott went to visit his friend Tenna and Lily went to Stephanie's 2nd birthday party today. It was really a cute party. Stephanie's mom, Maryann made the cutest hors d'oeuvres I have ever seen...lady bug on crackers

And tasty little rolls shaped as snails...

The rain stayed away long enough for the kids to play a little outside. Lily loves the Cozy Coupe. I wanted to get her one for her second birthday but Mat thought she wouldn't play with it too much but every time we go somewhere and there is one there she goes straight for it.

Stephanie was trying to give Lily a push and they put their heads together trying to figure out how to get the Coupe to move.

We had a nice time and the cake was delicious. I did not get a pic because I had put my camera away since we had to head home to pick up Scott. Lily made a few new friends and we had a great time. Thanks to Maryann and Stephanie for inviting us!

I managed to make a card this evening for 2Sketches4You's challenge. I always feel bad making my card on the last day of the challenge but I really like to participate when I can. I have been so swamped with week with my work at home and other things but I am glad I got to stamp with my newest Hero Arts Stamp. Of course by the time I photographed and uploaded my card I realized I missed the deadline...darn it for livin in Pacific time...lol

I used my new copics to color her in and I am looking forward to the Copic class I signed up for at my local scrapbook store Monday Night. I feel like if I learn more about these markers I'll feel more confident using them. That's it for tonight! Thanks for stopping by!
