Today's the day! 25 Days of Holiday cards 2016!

Thursday, November 24, 2016

Hello!! It's that time of year again! Join me for the next 25 days as I share some holiday inspiration right here on my blog!

Today's card features Anna Griffin's Pretty Christmas Pattern card bases, Christmas Glitter Stickers and Favorite Christmas Sentiments.

The perfect recipe for a stunning card is lots of layers. I used the Christmas Glitter sticker to layer over a piece of coordinating cardstock and then cut away the excess. Then using 3D Foam Squares from Therm-O-Web, I popped it in the front of the Pretty Christmas Pattern card base. Then finish off the design with a stunning sentiment and voila! You've got a stunning card to slip in the mail!

My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge: 308

Wednesday, November 23, 2016

Hello friends! Thanks for stopping by today. I have been having such a blast this month creating with the My Favorite Things Challenge Blog team for my guest spot.

Here's a look at this week's sketch.

For this week's card, I used the new Beast Friends set. I am really loving these adorable Yeti's! I was inspired by a set of ribbons I purchased from Home Goods this week for my color choice. I used the following cardstock colors from MFT: BerryliciousGravel GrayCotton Candy.

I love the Split Chevron cover-up. I decided not to take apart the pieces and used the design as my backdrop. Then I layered a circle die from the Pierced Circle Stax   and then cut the Berrylicious strip to ancor my sentiment, the Merry Christmas die. I finished it up with the adorable Yeti image. I added some Stickles to make him look frosty.

Have a fantastic Thanksgiving!!!

Flocked and Fabulous!!

Friday, November 18, 2016

Hello friends. Today I am sharing some fabulous cards from Anna's October HSN show.

These cards feature the flocking sheets. This technique was super fun! Here's what I was able to create with Anna's other products.

This frame die was perfect for this technique. I did find it easier to peel one side of the foam and adhere it to a piece of cardstock and then peeling the other side and placing the flocking sheet face down on the foam. Then place the die face down on the flocking side and run thru your cuttlebug.

I continued to use the same process for the rest of these cards.

The foiled papers in this collection are so beautiful.

I love purple and yellow together, don't you?

This butterfly die is one of my all time favorites! The pattern background matches perfectly.

Deco Foiling on Handmade Ornaments

Monday, November 14, 2016

Hi friends, today I'm sharing a fun holiday gift idea using DECO FOIL™. I love making handmade ornaments for friends and family! Today I am sharing how to create this  ornament using vinyl and deco foil. Let's get started!

  pic-6wm
Therm-O-Web Supplies:

DECO FOIL™ TRANSFER SHEETS • RED
ICRAFT MIXED MEDIA ADHESIVE 2.1 FL OZ
12″ Foil Laminator

Other Supplies: Cricut Design Studio, Oracal 651 outdoor vinyl, Glitter Pom-Poms,
 Holiday Ribbon, Craft plastic ornament

Project Instructions: First, choose what you want to place on your ornament. I chose this Make it Now Charger in Design Studio. You are able to customize the project which I love. I sized the sentiment at 2.75 H Adhere a 3x3 piece of Oracle 651 vinyl onto the Cricut mat and cut the image making sure the vinyl setting is used. I chose red vinyl to blend with the foil color I would be using because the back of the image is visible once it's placed on the ornament.

Once the image is cut, use a weeding tool to get rid of the excess vinyl. Next, cut a piece of DECO FOIL™ TRANSFER SHEETS • RED at 3x3. Place the foil over the vinyl and run it thru the 12" laminator. After it has cooled, peel away the foil to reveal the foiled sentiment.

Next cut a 3x3 piece of transfer tape and rub over the sentiment. Gently lift the transfer tape making sure the foiled vinyl sticks. This make take a few tries. Then lay the transfer tape with your design over the clear ornament and burnish with your fingers making sure there are no bubbles.

Fill the ornament with whatever you like using a little bit of ICRAFT MIXED MEDIA ADHESIVE 2.1 FL OZ around the edge of the plastic ornament to glue it. Finish with a festive bow and string to hand on the tree.

I had so much fun with this sketch. I decided to "pop out" my winter scene. Then I used a white gel pen to add snow to her clothing.

My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge:302

Wednesday, November 2, 2016

Hello friends! Today I am up on the My Favorite Things Challenge Blog as their November guest designer. I have always been a big fan of the Pure Innocence line so I used the September release Jumping with Joy to create my fall themed take on the sketch.

I used the leaves included in the set to add into my shaker along with misc sequins. I adhered the Stitched Oval Scalloped Frame to acetate and cut away the excess. I then use pieces of foam tape to line the oval to adhere to my stamped image and create my shaker. It takes a bit of time to cut each piece but the result is worth it.

If you'd like to create with us for this week's sketch you can find out how to upload your cards here.
