Hello friends. I hope you had a great holiday weekend. I was pretty busy with upcoming projects but managed to complete this week's My Favorite Things sketch challenge.

 Here's this week's fun sketch.

Here's what I created with this week's inspiration.

I used the Arrow Ends background builder to create my take on the sketch and then added the Twice the Thanks stamp and die set.

If you like creating cards for challenges, check out the My Favorite Things Challenge blog for weekly sketch challenges as well as bi-weekly color challenges.

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a creative day.

Deco Foiling with Taylored Expressions

Friday, May 27, 2016

Hello! Today sharing some cards I created using Deco Foil™ and the Deco Foil™ Adhesive Pen along with stamps and dies from Taylored Expressions.

Therm-O-Web Supplies: DECO FOIL™ TRANSFER SHEETS • GOLD DECO FOIL™ ADHESIVE PEN .34FLOZ MEMORY TAPE RUNNER XL™ ICRAFT EASY CUT ADHESIVE™ SHEETS • LG 3D WHITE FOAM SQUARES • COMBO PACK

Other Supplies: Fabriano Water Color Paper Distress Inks: Spiced Marmalade Misc. Twine

I love creating cards with watercolor paper and then using Distress Inks to create my own design. First, emboss the cardstock with a fun background die, then use the Distress ink (Spiced Marmalade) along with a watercolor pen to create your background, spraying water with a mini mister on your cardstock so the ink will move. I find if I stamp the ink in an acrylic block and pick up the color with the water color pen I get the best results. Once I dried the base then I stamped the image from Taylored Expressions Free Spirit set and embossed it with clear embossing powder.

  Step 1

Once we created the base, die cut a smaller piece of water color paper using the Fine Feathers die from Taylored Expressions. Use the DECO FOIL™ ADHESIVE PEN to color the tips of the feathers and let dry for a few minutes. Then apply the DECO FOIL™ TRANSFER SHEETS • GOLD over the feathers to transfer.

  step 2

Finish by using the 3D WHITE FOAM SQUARES • COMBO PACK to adhere the feathers to the front of the card and add a bow made from twine.

Here's another card I created using the same watercoloring technique without embossing the cardstock. For this card the background is the variety of feathers from the Taylored Expressions Fine Feathers die. I cut them using the ICRAFT EASY CUT ADHESIVE™ SHEETS • LG.

Then I peeled off the back and arranged them on the card after I stamped and embossed my sentiment. Then I used the DECO FOIL™ TRANSFER SHEETS • Gold to  make them pop off the card.

Thanks to Taylored Expressions for providing these sets to create with.

Have a creative day!

Summer Backyard Decor

Friday, May 13, 2016

Summer's coming and that means lots of outdoor BBQ'ing. Welcome your guests with this easy to create, outdoor summer decor WELCOME banner using iCraft® Deco Foil™.

May 7 Banner 1WM

  Project Instructions:

1

I like to use my Cricut Explore to cut quick letters and shapes so I browsed the Design Studio and found the Carousal font and a fun flower die cut to decorate my banner with. The Deco Foil™ PeelnStick Toner sheets are easy to adhere to the Cricut mat and cuts great using the cardstock setting.

  2

Next I ran the letters thru the laminator using the iCraft® Deco Foil™ Silver Star. The Deco Foil PeelnStick toner sheet made it easy to adhere the letters to the doilies.

  5

Next I layered to doilies onto the Burlap banner using iCraft 3D Foam Squares. I love using these because they stick to everything. Next I cut the leaves for the flowers and ran them thru the laminator using iCraft® Deco Foil™ Spring Green.

Finish off the banner by stringing the finished burlap banners with twine and adding the flowers using the iCraft 3D Foam Squares.

I love how easy this banner came together.

  Thanks for stopping by today.

May all your summer parties be festive and fun!

Have a creative day!

Sorry for the lack of activity here but we've moved!

Thursday, May 12, 2016

Hello friends! I know I've been pretty quiet on my blog for a couple of weeks but after almost 8 years of living in our apartment in El Segundo, we have moved!

We're still in the same town but the new diggs are quite a step up from our previous apartment. I went from having a kitchen that looked like this:

to THIS!

Yep! That's a Coffee sign in lights right by my Keurig!

I'm happy to share that I am now the Resident Manager of the complex we moved to and have been settling into my new role. It's a fantastic opportunity for my family and still affords me to help out at my daughter's school.

I'm still putting away all of my supplies in my new scrap space. Since I have to share it with our dining room, I've had to downsize a LOT. I must say I am happy to be getting rid of things I've held onto for far too long. I know the Girl Scouts have appreciated the donations.

I love our new table. It's been a very long time since we were able to sit down together at a real table and share a meal.

I still have some unpacking to do in Lily's and our room but the apartment is coming together very nicely.

I'm looking forward to getting back to crafting and sharing more on my blog again really soon.

Thanks for stopping by!
