Anna Griffin Flocked Cardstock Layers

Wednesday, February 24, 2016

Hello friends! Today I am sharing some of my projects that I created using Anna's flocked cardstock layers. They come in a variety of designs and colors.

For this card I layered two different colors and patterns of the layers and embellished with 3D stickers and die cuts.

Again, showing how you can mix and match more that one color and pattern.

I used a few of Anna's new dies to pair with the cardstock. This one is my fave.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Have a creative day!

Tuesday, February 23, 2016

Hello friends! I'm sharing my take on this week's My Favorite Things weekly sketch challenge. just in time to link up.

Here's a look at this week's sketch

Since we're having such wonderful weather in So Cal I was inspired to create a card with a sunny outlook!

I love the new Lucky set from the latest release and the sun from the Things with Wings set is one of my faves too. They were a perfect combination. I also scored some awesome hexagon chunky glitter from Michaels to create this fun shaker card.

Supplies: My Favorite Things Stamps: Things with Wings, Lucky. My Favorite Things Dies: Die-namics Stitched Rectangle Die, Die-namics Stitched Cloud Edges.

A new sketch is posted each Wednsday and you can learn more about this fun challenge by clicking the banner.

Vintage Collage Toppers projects

Thursday, February 18, 2016

Hello Friends! Today I am so excited to share some projects I made with Anna's newest embellishment set,

Vintage Collage Toppers!

These layered embellishments are ready to be put on a card to help you get them in the mail faster!

Here are some of my samples.

I love Anna's glittered cardstock. It really adds the wow factor to a card.

There are masculine options too which makes creating a card for him super easy. I don't know about you but I struggle with masculine cards.

All of these cards came together so quickly thanks to these embellies! Anna just annouced last week that she's going to have Vintage Card toppers 2 on HSN in her March show so stay tuned!

Thanks for stopping by!

iCraft Deco Foiled Water colored cards tutorial

If you've been bitten by the foiling bug like I have, you've noticed there are not a lot of printables that are specific to card making out there on the net.

With the rainbow of colors that Therm-O-Web offers of iCraft® Deco Foil™, the possibilities for foiling these prints are endless. So I was searching Pinterest high and low looking for some fun brush stroke card sentiments and came up empty handed.

Then it occurred to me that I had the tools to make my own, I just need brush stroke fonts. So I searched out a fabulous font bundle found here and made my own cards in Photoshop Elements.

I did find this great free Geometric overlay via Pinterest and used it along with the font to create my own cards. I set the size at 8 1/2 x 11 so I could cut the image down the middle and then cut them into an A2 card size.

After printing them out with water color cardstock, I was ready to foil them with iCraft® Deco Foil™ black and then water color the background. I like to water color with a variety of mediums for today's cards I used Ranger Distress Inks.

Water coloring with these inks is super easy and fairly mess free. Grab a water pen, mini mister and dab some ink on an acrylic block. I like to spray my project with the Mini Mister first so that when I add the color it moves easily around the image.

Add ink as often and you feel you need it or until you achieve your desired look. The black iCraft® Deco Foil™ Transfer Sheets look great with the water colors. Use a heat tool to dry and then put your card together with iCraft® Easy-Tear Adhesive tape 1/2 inch

I like using this tape because the heat tool can cause the paper to warp a bit from the heat when you dry it. The iCraft Easy-Tear Adhesive tape holds it on the card base tightly so you don't see the warp in the paper.

After adding a bit of twine, the finished results are really pretty and ready to give to that special someone in your life.

These dies are so elegant and easy to work with. I loved layering them and creating these cards.
