We all deserve 1st Place!

Thursday, February 28, 2013

When it comes to mothering we all deserve a 1st Place award don't you think? As Mom's we don't get to take days off or even take time to get well when we are sick. We're the glue that holds our families together. We rise earlier and go to bed later all to meet the demands of our husbands and kids right?

Well after the day I had yesterday, I am happy to collect this 1st Place award my sweet daughter Lily exclaimed I deserved for taking care of all the "throw ups from Zaza, brother and Daddy."

I just love how honest kids are, don't you?

Yes it's true, the tummy bug invaded our home yesterday courtesy of this little darling.

It's always hardest when the little ones are sick. You really feel bad for them because they don't understand what's happening. Especially when it's the tummy bug. So withing 30 mins of her arrival we had several messes and clothing changes before her Mom was finally able to come get her about 1 p.m. and just as she left the bug got to my hubby. Oh my goodness what a day I tell you because it didn't end with him. An hour after Scott arrived home from school it hit him too. I swear I did 10 loads of laundry and lived in my rubber gloves all of Wednesday.

So last night Lily and I made a little store run for the boys.

Thankfully we got thru the night without any more messes to clean up. Lily was up bright and early and ready to head to school. I am so glad she got by this and I am feeling OK today...my tummy feels a little queasy but I believe in the power of the mind and I've just been telling myself, ''you're not gonna get it."

Thankfully everyone is almost back to normal today and I was able to finish up some assignments that are due this afternoon. I'll leave you with a little sneak peek of March's Paper Posies kit that will be going live tomorrow.

Hopefully the tummy bug won't invade your home.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Set your DVR's We R is on HSN tonight!

Monday, February 11, 2013

Hello friends. I wanted to mention you'll want to check out HSN tonight starting at 10 PM MT for the new We R Mini 8 and 2 Edge Punch.

I love these new punches and got to create with the Trellis punch for the show tonight. The punch was easy to use and I love that you can layer the strips of cardstock punched with the borders to create a fun card like this one I made using our Crazy for You collection and our black Washi Tape.

Here's a sneak peek of one of my projects I made for the show using the same punch.

I'm sure the show will be great tonight so don't forget to set your DVR's!

Have a great day!

Hip Hop Valentine style

Thursday, February 7, 2013

Hello Unity friends. I hope you have enjoyed today's Hip Hop. Make sure you start at the Unity blog so you don't miss out on all the Unity news.
So this week for Hip Hop I'm sharing some Valentine inspiration using January's KOTM and some left overs from my February Paper Posies kit.

All Hearts & Love

I love making tags to tie on gifts and treats. Here's some fun ones I made with a few of these cute images.

I love taking bits and pieces out of my stash and making pretty little things.

For this tag I used some twine from the The Twinery. Wilton doilies are a must have in my stash and my Martha Stewart punch.

The heart beat image in the January kit is one of my faves and easy to incorporate into this tag. I added embellishments from Pink Paislee.

I love punching several images and using the tiny attatcher to hold them together.

This is my favorite of the bunch. I love layering embellishments and punches make it easy. Not to mention this KOTM. It has so many amazing images all in one kit. It's definitely one of my favorites.

New from Anna Griffin, embossing folders

Wednesday, February 6, 2013

Hello friends. Did you see Anna on HSN a few weeks ago talking about her new embossing folders with Provo Craft. I wish I could have bought that beautiful cream and gold Cuttlebug but I already have 2 machines here at home and could no justify adding a third. I did however scoop up those embossing folders! The designs are so beautiful and vintage. I fell in love immediately. Wanna see what I made with them?

I love you card

I wanted a window effect for this card so I embossed the patterned paper first and then cut out the oval and layered with pop dots for the depth. Then I added random 3D flowers from my stash of AG products.

My Best Friend card

I had some heavy weight vellum on hand so I gave it a try and the result was really pretty!

I also picked up Anna's Floral Impressions Card kit and used the embossing folders along with the kit.

Thank You card

With Sympathy card

The embossing folders really added dimension and beauty to the cardstock in the card making kit. I am glad that I have them to pair with all my Anna Griffin collections.

I am sure I'll be creating many more cards with these folders but that's all I had time to make for this post.

Thanks as always for stopping by!

My Little Shoebox mash up fun

Tuesday, February 5, 2013

Hello friends. Today I am sharing a fun layout I created for My Little Shoebox's mash up week. Helen's collections are really easy to mix and match. I just picked a couple of my favorite papers and got started.

Carousel Love

I misted the cream background paper and layered the cloud paper for my background.

Then I dug thru my stash for some embellishments. I love these frames from Tattered Angels. I punched several hearts to make a honeycombed heart embellishment. The brown flowers with rhinestone centers are from the Recollections collection that can be found at Michaels.

I cut out these letters and used pop dots to add dimension for my title.

That's all I have for today friends. Thanks for stopping by!
