Cards I made with Hero Arts Stamps this week

This one was for the Friend challenge the week before I made for my sweet friend Danielle. We share the same addiction and it's so nice to have someone to console with about all the lovely things there are out in the stamping and scrapping world that we can use indulge our addiction. LOL I love our chats Danielle, you're the best!

These are the cards I made inspired by this week's Win a Day on the Hero Arts blog. I decided that I would try to make a card for each stamper featured and their cards were amazing and inspiring!! I should be getting my new Hero stamps Monday and I'll be inking them up right away! Be sure to stop by the Hero blog and check out their work here!

Being sick is the pits! Good thing for Hip Hop Hangovers!

I have some new layouts to show you but I've been sick all week and my blog has been neglected. Today I'm leaving lots of love so enjoy the artwork and tell me your favorites. I'm so happy you continue to stop by! Today I've got some free Sassafras to give from none other than Sassafras themselves. Click here to get yours!
Here's a fun layout I did for 52 Sketches using Sassafras's Life at the Pole line...Yummy stuff! The title She's SO Sweet couldn't be truer about my sweet Lily. At 19 mos she is really developing her personality and it shows.

Next is another Sketch for 52 Sketches featuring new paper from GCD!! Love it! My daughter thought it was funny to feed her Nana breakfast when we were over last Sunday. I had to snap these photos. Too funny!

Next is this week's challenge at Scrapping Out Loud's tear it up challenge! These are some of my wonderful Mommy friends I made at City Mommy after I had Lily. I laugh so much when I am with them and that Georgie {pictured with me at the top} is a hoot! Luvs her! You can see the Design Team's creations here and play along for a chance to win this month's RAK!

Now for the cards....Hip Hangover baby!!! Check out this week's specials at Unity here! If you don't have none, get some! I {heart} Unity stamps! They make me smile! Angela is the most amazing business woman I've ever met. So dedicated to making Unity the best ever!

Project 52 Blinkie
I'm so excited to share with you that I was picked as Designer of the Week at Bad Girls Project 52's Blog! Cari Fennel posted an amazing project last week anI was inspired to make my own banner with a quote to inspire me in my own studio. Here's Cari's project

And her challenge : What is your message today? And where will you place it? It can be anything you wish.....

Here's what I created based on Cari's inspiration and message

I was inspired by Cari's project to create a banner to remind myself that it's ok to step outside of my comfort zone and reach within to find feeling in a project. It's my Dream to some day have my work recognized by the scrapbooking community and be published. I know I will fail more times than I will succeed but I think we learn more from our losses than our sucesses.

I wanted to create a banner but wasn't sure of my message so I started with a butterfly chipboard album. I also had some funky chipboard and fabulous Jenni Bowlin papers so I just let it evolve. Then I settled on the title DREAM and was looking online for inspirational quotes and came across the quote "dream big and dare to fail" It was perfect. Thanks to Cari for an awesome project and her amazing artwork which continues to inspire me.

Here's my prize!

A Bad Girl's projct 52 Blinkie with my name!!! Totally cool! Thanks so much to Wendy and the amazingly talented Bad Girl Designers!

Hip Hop Hangover and a challenge from 2 sketches 4 U

Friday, February 20, 2009

Hip Hop was a blast yesterday because so many people came out to hang with Donna Downey! Unfortunately I didn't get to chat with her because I wasn't feeling well. I did get some good rest which I needed but never the less the girls has a great time chatting and winning Rubbah.

As always Angela has some awesome specials here at Unity so check them out here at the Unity Blog. You've got to see the mystery grab bag deal she's offering for only 8.00!

Also don't forget to mark your calendars for the World Record Inspirational Blog Hop March 28th! I'll be participating with a great project here on my scrappy blog. Hope to see you here!

I only made two cards yesterday because I wasn't feeling all that great. The first one was for Jeanne's challenge using a floral stamp from Unity and the second was a Splitcoast challenge.
using striped card stock.
I'll be back later with my cards from the 2 Sketches 4 U challenges. I haven't had a chance to photograph them yet.
Thanks for stopping by today and have a great weekend!

Unity Addicts...Whoa it's Wednesday already!!!

Self discovery is an amazing thing. I am so fortunate to have made so many friends in the blogging and scrapping community that speak to me thru their work and blogs. Some peoples personal stories and struggles they share make me feel like I've been sleeping for a very long time and I am just getting started with my life and others have posts that hit me like I've been smacked in the back of the head with a rolled newspaper with someone yelling "Wake Up!" LOL

It's a true gift that we have this forum to communicate sucesses and failures and for self expression. If anyone from Blogger is out there reading my blog, I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart for the opportunity to make lasting friendships and be inspired on a daily basis here.

I decide to add a little something to my blog every Wednesday called "What I learned today" This week's lesson is one that is so close to my heart and a real life struggle for me. I came across Katie Squire's blog, my scrappy fellow Bad Girl from Canada and was completely inspired by her layout and journaling of a very personal struggle. After reading your words today Katie, you taught me to love myself today. I haven't felt that I was worthy of my own love in a long time. Thank you for scrapping such a beautiful and deeply personal page to remind those of us that have forgotten the greatest lesson on all. You have to love yourself first. You can see Katie's amazing story and personal layout here.

Now onto this week's Unity Addicts challenge...This week's challenge is an inspiration challenge from Amy. It's this beautiful floral arrangement

Looks yummy huh! Here's my take on the challenge. My card actually opens and the inside is the Love is Just a word stamped image. I could not get it to stay open to snap a pic but my Unity peeps know the stamp.
Next up is my card for the Unity Sketch Challenge this week. Here's the sketch,
Here is my take and I totally interpreted this sketch in a groovy way! Can you tell my new favorite stamp from Unity? I got happy mail yesterday from Unity. My Hip Hop purchases arrived in time for this week's Hip Hop. Oh the detail! Love Love Love this one!! Not only do I love it for cards, it's a great size for scrapbooking too! Heck I may scrap a page just like this card. How cute would that be?? It's called Patchwork Petals. You can check it out here at the Unity shopping site and the other new releases too!

Thanks for stopping by!

I've been Tagged and a new challenge at Scrapping Out Loud!

Sunday, February 15, 2009

Julie tagged me a few days ago and I got sick over the weekend. I am finally fulfilling the instructions. So here the deets : just go to the place on your computer where you store your photos, then to the 6th folder, then the sixth photo. Take that photo, put it on you blog & tell it's story.

So here's mine, this photo was taken at Lily's first birthday party July 18th 2008. When I opened my pictures and saw the 6th file was Lily's first birthday I thought this would be great but then when this was the 6th photo I smiled. What could be better than a great photo of my lovely family! We had a great time with family and friends that day. Lily really cleaned up in toys too!
Now the following ladies have been tagged! Can't wait to see what you come up with.
1. Heidi
2. Louise
3. Katherine
4. Rochelle
5. Kristi
6. Kat
This week's challenge at Scrapping Out Loud is... Lacey! - Use more than one kind of lace on your layout. Here's my take and I used my new Unity Hearts of Old stamp that Angela gave me at CHA on the large heart shaped card stock I cut out. isn't it FABULOUS! You can get it too if you click here

Come on over to Scrapping Out Loud here and scrap along with this week's challenge. Simply post a comment linking your layout on this week's thread to get a chance to win this month's RAK sponsored by Love is In the Details. You can check out their kit site here
Have a scrappy day and thanks for stopping by!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Saturday, February 14, 2009

Hope you have a super sweet one with your Sweetheart or Sweethearts! I was up late blog hopping and scrapping last night and came across a fun Card Sketch Blog called 2 Sketches 4 You. You can check it out here Here's my card for this week's challenge over there and a Pic of my Sweet Hearts for Eye Candy Challenge!

I used a stamp I won in my very first Blog Candy win from Nancy @ Inkcicles. She posted a giveaway and I instantly fell in love with this stamp Ernie the Elephant from Clear Dollar Stamps. I recently attended the Splitcoast Stampers Cupcake Social when I went to CHA and I could hardly believe my eyes when I recognized here there! How cool was that! She probably thought I was a nut since I get a bit excited when cool stuff like that happens. I had someone snap our pic. It was such a pleasure to meet her!
Isn't she beautiful! Check out her beautiful creations at her blog here

I didn't have a picture of just my husband so I am posting this one taken by Ken Posney in Kauai this past summer. If you ever visit Kauai and need a fantastic photographer he's your guy. Simply amazing huh! Check out his site and more beautiful images here
My husband is my Sweetheart, I love him so. He's my best friend and biggest supporter. He never asks me how much I spend on my obsessive hobby nor does he mind the many nights I stay up in the wee hours creating my art. Happy Valentine's day Babe, you are the World's Greatest Husband!
